Back to square one. First name will be Sevastyan (after Grandpa), last name begins with A.

We have a short list of 10 names:
Izaak (original choice & family spelling)
Espen
Hans
Koenraad (family name & spelling)
Marx
Lucas
Bren
Jael
Raphael
Jonah

Can you help by ordering them? 1 being the one you like most and 10 being your least favourite.

If you dislike all of them then list in order of 1 being dislike and 10 being hate.

Thanks in advance :)

If you are living in Europe I would maybe choose a middle name that can be spelt easily with a Russian? First name.

I love koenraad, but would spell Conrad/ Konrad

Sevastyan Konrad for example

( we also have multi language/ country heritage)

MultipleMama · 03/09/2013 22:42

Yes, it's Russian. Koenraad is DH's Great Grandpa's name so hesitant at changing the spelling without causing insult. We do love the name but the two unusual names has us unsure.

We're in Europe. England but moving to Germany.

Hmm I'd def be tempted with Konrad if heading to Germany. They seem to like making you write name in full often so having one they can't misspell might help.

The oe ie just the same as o with umlaut in German , and the aa I assume makes it sound more like 'rard', than 'rad'?

Ours have names going English(first), Greek (middle), English (middle), Greek (surname). Greek elderly relatives call them by their Greek middle name, everyone else by first name. Seems to work

MultipleMama · 03/09/2013 23:28

Yeah, you've got it. That's why we're unsure of swapping the spelling as they're pronounced slightly different and unintentionally insult his Grandpa.

Other DC names are:

Eldest 2: English (first), German (middle & surname).
Youngest 2: German (first, middle & surname.)

We loved Izaak but DH doesn't really like it any more so back to our name list!

Do you have to have a middle name? I don't really get middle names except I know lots of epople use them to get a family member in there. I like the idea of ordering them though, so just for fun:

1.Raphael
2.Izaak

  1. Jonah
4.Koenraad 5.Espen 6.Lucas 7.Marx 8.Jael 9.Hans 10.Bren

Yes, we do. We have them for formalities. I like the ordering idea too :)
