Zachary - much more modern sounding. isaac to me is an old man name and doesnt look good written down.

looki · 01/09/2013 00:35

I prefer Isaac and had it on my list when pregnant. If we had gone with it, I'd have called him Zac as a nn.

PurpleGirly · 01/09/2013 00:36

Zach. With an h.

LittlePandaBear · 01/09/2013 09:06

I prefer Zachary - Isaac to me is too much like 'I suck'

NationMcKinley · 01/09/2013 09:17

Isaac. I like Zachary but I know about 5! I don't know any Isaacs and I prefer it anyway

jackjacksmummy · 01/09/2013 09:17

Zachary definitely.

AurorasShoes · 01/09/2013 09:19

Zachary with Zach as nn

hawkmcqueen · 01/09/2013 10:16

Prefer Zachary as prefer boys names starting with a consonant and not a vowel! And think it's a cool name too

onedev · 01/09/2013 10:21

I love both names, although Zachary (& differing spellings of it) is v v popular currently.

FriskyHenderson · 01/09/2013 11:04

I know a tonne of Isaacs and they range in pronunciation from eye-zuc to eye-sack to eye-suck to iz-ack. Often mispelt Issac.

So Zachary. Could you do Zachariah?

Haylebop12 · 01/09/2013 11:11

Isaac, although I do love Zachary too.

Currently 34 weeks and its the name we have chosen. He will probably get called zac most of the time. Had a mixed reaction to the name tbh but I couldn't give two hoots Grin

Writerwannabe83 · 01/09/2013 11:13

I love the name Zack, but not Zachary.

I wanted Zack on my Boys List but hubby said no might add it anyway Hmm

Littlecherublegs · 01/09/2013 12:05

Both are lovely but I prefer Zachary .

ch1134 · 01/09/2013 14:21

Love them both but Isaac sounds a bit more biblical to me, which you may want or want to avoid.

DramaAlpaca · 01/09/2013 14:24

Zachary.

thegreylady · 01/09/2013 14:39

I love Zachary though the Hairy Maclairy story comes to mind [Zachary Quack].

Loupee · 01/09/2013 14:53

Isaac, was on my list for DS and will be on the list for the next one.

CPtart · 01/09/2013 15:00

Love both, Isaac just pips it.

mrsdoylesteapot · 01/09/2013 15:06

I have an Isaac Smile, but I do love Zachary too. My sister calls him Zac, but she's the only one. I have noticed quite a few Isaacs about recently though, so it does seem to be getting more popular, I obviously started a trend Wink

ImaginaryHat · 01/09/2013 15:07

Love both, used to prefer Isaac, now I think I prefer Zachary. I think its because I irrationally love Zach with a h, but really quite dislike Zac or Zack! I have no idea why!

racingheart · 01/09/2013 15:16

I love both names. Slightly prefer Izaak which was my first choice for DS but DH refused. Love Zachary and Zacharia too. Zac, Zach, Zack all great as nn.

PistachioTruffle · 01/09/2013 15:27

I love both, but know quite a few isaacs so Zachary would be my choice. Great names!

Saffyz · 02/09/2013 15:12

Zachary

WheresMyCow · 02/09/2013 15:25

Isaac, but then I'm biased Grin

We do get some varying pronunciations and spellings of it though.

squoosh · 02/09/2013 17:55

Isaac. Definitely. A far superior name.

Zachary is a bit 90's.
