Reuben?

Hiya just wondering what everyone's thoughts are on Reuben?
I really like it and although iv never met or heard of one it doesn't seem to our there.

I know a couple. Nice boys, nice families.

I don't like the name though. It sounds odd to me, too ancient.

I know lots I think its nice if you have Jewish heritage but not if you don't

It was no 73 on the one names least year, going down from 68. So in the top hundred but not massively popular.

I know a 4 year old Reuben known by family as Roo. I like it, reminds me of Cold Comfort Farm...

I don't think it's too out there. I don't think I like the 'b' sound in the middle, random I know! I would prefer Rudy maybe. Not helpful I know...

Love it. Before we found out what we were having we could only think of a couple of boys names and this was one of them.

I like it too - distinctive without being too flashy.

It is the name of my nephew. A lovely name for a boy, and plenty of room to grow in to.

Doesn't have to be restricted to people with Jewish heritage any more than Noah/Isaac/Levi

Can also be spelled Ruben.

Love it. Have strong Jewish ties, but I agree it's become very popular outside of Jewish circles. Reminds me of happy times, being young, getting together with long lost family, etc... ahh, where's a block of halva when you want it!?

I have one and there are quite a few round our way. There is a large Jewish population and strangely, I know of 4 of them under the age of 3 and none are from Jewish families!!
