difficult to choose ...

This will be our third child and 2nd boy in the family....choices are Matthew, Mark and Joseph.... And the nicknames will be Matt or Matty and Joe, Joey....
Please help!!!

Matthew. However bear in mind that once they get to about 5yrs you won't have any control over nicknames, it will be up to them. Personally if anyone called me Joey I would change it to Jo as early as possible.

Both nice names, the type I'd choose. Matthew has a very slight edge of Joseph. Mainly because Matty is so sweet and Jo a bit dull.

I prefer Joseph, but really don't like the nn Joey. It sounds really American, or the name of a young kangaroo. Go Joseph, and encourage shortening to Joe!!

I would choose Joseph/Joe. Definitely not Joey.

Like Matthew/Matt and Mark too.

My friend's sons are called these names. Joseph was always my favourite name but now they are teens Matt in so cool! So Matthew!

I like Matthew but can't use it as it's my Exs name. Joseph is also lovely not keen on Mark - although a psychic once told me a Mark was my solemate & when I meet him I should marry him immediately - DH wasnt impressed lol.
Think Matthew Joseph has quite a nice ring to it

I like Mark, you don't seem to come across many little ones either. I also like Matthew and Joseph though so I am no help :)

I observed this in another thread, that out of the four gospel names, Matthew seems to be the only one that has been consistently popular for the last 100 years. Mark and John were popular when Luke was not, and now the reverse applies.
