Due a little girl end of September. Already have Lucas Benjamin aged 4.

Any suggestions at all? So stuck! :(

No, no, no. I don't much like it for a boy but for a girl? Can't you go for something that sounds like a girl's name?

haha butler is our surname! Sorry didn't make that clear :)

Sorry! If that's the surname obviously that's quite different.

I like Tansy. I've only ever known one who must be about 60 now.

LondonMother, I really like Tansy too. I knew one as a child and her never come across another since.

sparkle3232 · 25/08/2013 18:57

The short list I have are:

Madeleine
Sophia
Ava
Isabella
Chloe
Harriet

But my husbands short list is completely different:

Tegan
Leah
Kaitlin
Casey
Brooke

we are at complete logger heads! Confused

Lucas Benjamin is lovely!

We find girls names harder too... How about:

Maya
Chloe
Freya
Georgia
Anna

Love Sophia (or Sophie) too.

Caip · 25/08/2013 19:02

I know someone who has a Lucas and a Martha

I did make a suggestion with Sophia (one of my choices) with Kaitlin (one of his) but he said this was unfair and how come his name comes 2nd, so this went out the window. I have just over three weeks left, and should she come early, she'll be nameless!

Men eh? Wink

Oh gosh those two lists are total opposites arent they....

My suggestions are

Alice Butler
Katie Butler
Louisa Butler
Freya Butler

sparkle3232 · 25/08/2013 19:05

I chose Lucas' name, so he thinks he has automatic rights to naming the new one. I disagree!

sparkle3232 · 25/08/2013 19:07

Ah I've never considered Martha or Freya before. Thank you for those ideas! I prefer more old-fashioned or traditional names, but hubby prefers modern more common ones :(

Even my mother-in-law isn't keen on his suggestions

bluecheque4595 · 25/08/2013 19:07

Fiona. Or Rowan.

Both names of my relatives whose surname is Butler.

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 25/08/2013 19:11

Joanna Butler is quite nice (just jumped into my head, no idea why!).

You have such different ideas! Um, is there anything that's middle ground, like Grace or Hope perhaps?

ZolaBuddleia · 25/08/2013 19:12

Clearly you are in the right! Is it too late to LTB?

From your list I love Madeleine and Harriet the most.

How about:
Beatrice
Lucy
Caroline
Miranda
Joely
Josephine

MortifiedAdams · 25/08/2013 19:15

Megan
Imogen
Georgia
Phoebe

sparkle3232 · 25/08/2013 19:15

He did suggest Faith, which is one of his better suggestions, but I'm still not fully brought with it. But that was on his "long list" and didnt make it to his "short list". I also suggested Mia as I quite like that name but he said it was a nice name, just not for him.

Our whole family is at war with this name game haha Blush

Littlecherublegs · 25/08/2013 19:16

Your list is much nicer!
Though I don't mind Caitlin.

Megan
Thea
Matilda
Anya
Seren
Eva
Bethan

Viviennemary · 25/08/2013 19:16

I thought it was to be a first name too. But thank goodness it's not. I much prefer your list to your DH's. I think Sophia Alice sounds good. Or Alice Louise. And Joanna is nice too.

sparkle3232 · 25/08/2013 19:18

It is to be a first name :) I just tried to buy him off with using his names as middle names. He is not having any of it :(

OP posts:
TerribleTantrums · 25/08/2013 19:19

I like all of your list (although like Harriet less than the others), of your DH's list only Tegan and Kaitlin are possibles, Brooke Butler sounds like an accountancy firm. I think Celeste would go well with Lucas.

wizzler · 25/08/2013 19:22

I vote for Madeleine, and prefer your list overall
How about Imogen ?
