Hello!!

We need help with Girls names... So far we have....

Clemence
Bella
Lyra
Mae

We can't make a decision!!! I really like Clemence, but husband is having a wobble as doesnt like Clem or Clemie... Which do you like? Any other suggestions welcome, especially that go with Mary which is a family name that we're thinking as using as her middle name..

Love Bella also but been put off be fact that now number one name in US due to the obsession with the Twighlight Saga! Does that matter?!

I like Lyra, not really the others.

Caip · 25/08/2013 08:25

I heard the name Celeste twice yesterday and think that's nice

BigusBumus · 25/08/2013 08:30

I don't like Bella or Mae, there are LOADS of them about. Lyra sounds like Liar to me. Clemence is ok. How about Cecilly or Celia or Cecile?

SmallBee · 25/08/2013 08:44

I LOVE Lyra & wish I could use it myself, but we have an 8 month old Lyla in the family so it's too similar.

BabyBrainMom · 25/08/2013 11:13

Cecily sounds very nice. Love Mae too, or how about Mia?

TallulahBetty · 25/08/2013 14:25

Lyra is nice. Only like the spelling May. Don't like the others.

Clemence is fine if pronounced the French way, but if you're living in an Anglophone country I would go for Clemency instead.

Dislike Bella - too faddy and it makes me think of belly.

Lyra = liar (as in the book).

Mae. West. Not for me. Also terribly overused as a middle name by the unimaginative.

MortifiedAdams · 25/08/2013 14:41

Hmmm...sorry I dont like any of them.

Lydia?

littlemisspiggy90 · 25/08/2013 15:06

I definitely prefer Lyra, I don't really think much of the others.

LoopyLupo · 25/08/2013 15:39

Use Clementine instead - its a beautiful name.

MintyDiamonds · 25/08/2013 16:00

Love love Lyra, don't like any of the others.

Mae is very popular around here in the north as a middle name.

What about annabel mary surname? Then you could have a bit of flexibility with nn as she gets older?
