I have decided this will be the name for dc3. I'm not actually sold on Cassandra as a name, but love the shortened versions. Figure putting the long name on the bc will give her options later on.

My quandary, how do I convince dp it is THE name? He claims he doesn't like it. Obviously, he's a deluded fool but how do I get my way again?

I have named our other two dcs, so it could be argued its his 'turn'. But I've only done that because he has awful taste! Dss, for example, has 5 middle names. None special or sentimental, just film stars he liked at the time .

I like Cassandra! It's in the running for my (hopefully soon to be) 2nd dc

If you're not sold on the name yourself then why would you give it your child? I don't get this 'options' thing either ... You 'are' your given name.

So, if you like the name Cassie or Cassia then call your child the name you love.

Anything else is just pointless

Dp likes Clementine. We also have Harriet, Tabitha, Darcey on our list.

I think Cass goes best with other dc's names and our surname (well, his and soon to be mine). He just doesn't like it. I can't fault him for that. Just wish he'd change his damned mind!

I hear what you're saying, Fleur. But it's important to me that dcs have full names, not nns, on their bcs.

I love Cassandra's meaning and I do like the name, its just not what the baby would be called day to day.

I love Cass/Cassie but despite it's ancient Greek provenance, to me Cassandra will always be Rodney's dippy girlfriend Cassaaaandraaaaaaaah.

Plus, it's got 'Sandra' in it.

Cassia is much nicer.
