The same names seem to come up in rotation on nearly every list here. Not a bad thing. But Naomi doesn't feature.
Any thoughts on it? Is it common i.e. popular?

It's pretty but it does sound a little dated to my ears too. Sorry. It's quite a generational & geographical think though, so probably best to ignore me and Jo for if if you like it. Grin

My preference is definitely NAYomi rather than NayOHmee.

My lovely mum's name . Also a very cute 6 year old that I know but hers is pronounced Nye-omi whereas my Ma was Nay-omi .

Lovely. It was on my short list but dh vetoed.

I've been jinxed with names so far. Always a reason that the one I love can't be used.

I think we're going to just go with Naomi. Feels right.

Also a japanese name meaning straight beauty. Has many pronunciations.

The mean chavvy bullies at my school seemed to be called Naomi - the ones who smoked round the back of the classrooms and used to threaten to beat people up and stuff. In my mind it will always be a chavvy bully name and I can't get past that.

Astronica · 13/01/2019 11:59

I'm not keen on it.

StarrySky7 · 13/01/2019 12:38

I love it. I would put it in the same category as Phoebe but Naomi is miles nicer.

However, I've heard some people pronounce it 'Ny-o-me' and 'Nay-o-me'.

3in4years · 13/01/2019 23:17

I find it very ugly
