Only like ursula and clementine.

Prounounciation would be "I sold" eg a car (sorry!)

JellyMould · 17/08/2013 22:35

Persephone - don't like it
Octavia - quite like it.
Isolde - like it would say iz-old?
Petrova like it
Don't like the others sorry.

ZolaBuddleia · 17/08/2013 22:36

Persephone - not keen, sounds nicer than it looks
Octavia - makes me think of someone with a long neck
Isolde (please say how you would pronounce this) - like it, would pronounce Izzolder
Petrova (not sure about this one, dh influence) - are your Slavic? If not it's a bit odd
Ursula - like it
Lucrezia (not sure about this one either, or which spelling) - Borgia
Clementine - love it

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 17/08/2013 22:37

Isolde is gorgeous. Love Petrova too, because of the book.

Like Lucretia (this spelling).
Not fond of the others.

Karbea · 17/08/2013 22:48

They are all a bit 'trying too hard' aren't they?

Isolde is pronounced "is old", with emphasis on the syllable 'so'.

ih-ZOHL-dh

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 17/08/2013 23:03

Its 'Is old a'.
TBH Im not keen on any of those names. Possibly Persphone, if I had to pick one.

NadiaWadia · 18/08/2013 05:21

Like them all, except Ursula.

NadiaWadia · 18/08/2013 05:28

Did your DH get Petrova from 'Ballet Shoes' or he is Russian or something? If not I would just check it is an actual recognised name first (in Russia).

SpinningSpider · 18/08/2013 05:33

Persephone I always think is used by people that are trying to hard.

The only one I like is Clementine. I love this name and would use id dh didn't hate it. Sad

PeriodMath · 18/08/2013 05:56

Honest opinion? I don't like any of them.

hawkmcqueen · 18/08/2013 08:26

I think the following are usable:
Octavia, quite nice
Ursula, not pretty
Clementine, okay, cannot abide the nn Clem, don't know why

exoticfruits · 18/08/2013 08:39

Octavia or Clementine- can't stand the rest.

Caip · 18/08/2013 08:41

The only one I like is Ursula and not majorly keen on that

Dimitiesofblue · 18/08/2013 11:33

Thank you, this is helpful

Yes, Petrov has a connection to dh (can't say more than that, for fear of outing).

Clementine. That's it, I don't like any of the others.

whyno · 18/08/2013 12:36

I like Octavia, Petrova and Clementine
