Names to go with George

Been trying to think of names that go with the name George Smile Will probably go with Rosie (maybe Rose but called Rosie) for a girl as this was our name if George was going to be a girl when born!
Struggling with boys names, I kinda like Joseph and Peter but I'm not so sure!
Ideas anyone? Smile

Funny, I have a George and I have a girl due this month. Rose was also our front runner for a long time although someone said having children called George and Rose was so English it was veering into UKIP territory! Grin

If it was a boy was going to go for something similarly classic, probably Edward or James.

Good luck! You've got great taste in names!

Your choices sound quite stoic, whereas I go for more twirly flowery names :) I wanted dd to be rosalie but dh wouldn't go for it. What about something like felix, theo or Henry?
Or maybe something with alliteration so Jonathan Joseph Jacob etc. good luck :)

Thomas
William
Harry
Benjamin / Benedict
Oliver

The George's I know have brothers called Blake and Samuel.

I love Joseph!

How strange!! One of the midwives I've seen has a George and a Rosie too haha! Smile and it is a little UKIP isn't it haha! How very English of us!

And good name suggestions from both of you! Definitely want something kind of traditional, not a fan of many modern names!
Do you think George and Joseph go together well?

Also, i think Rosalie is quite a nice name! I wouldn't go for it myself but I do really like it :)

I have a George, and if DS2 had been a girl then he'd have been Rosie! He's Charlie instead :)

cantpooinpeace · 09/08/2013 19:50

I have a George & a Claudia Grin

Chubfuddler · 09/08/2013 19:52

I have a George and a Sophia. If number 2 had been a boy he'd have been a Fred and sod the Weasley twins.

Rachael200694 · 09/08/2013 19:57

Hopefully nobody would catch on about the weasleys Wink

My dads suggestion is George and Mildred, how original haha! Didn't see that one coming Wink

Henry
Max

Meg
Pippa

PinkGlove · 09/08/2013 20:15

Love Rosie. I have a Joseph so love it and he's the only Joseph I've come across so far!

NannyPlumForPM · 09/08/2013 20:30

I do think that George and Joseph go together beautifully! My dd is Isabella mn rose, but nn bella. It's a little sad that every other child is a bella now though :(

We're ttc the second and I was gunning for 'edward' until I sat down to watch twilight Blush

SoftSheen · 09/08/2013 20:35

Joseph is nice. Henry or James could also work well.

For a girl, how about Charlotte, Alice or Rosamund (then you could keep nn Rosie)

BarbaraWoodlouse · 09/08/2013 20:38

Not Pippa, surely. Far too close to Peppa Grin

LynetteScavo · 09/08/2013 20:38

Joseph

Edward

William

James

Oliver

Jonathan

Henry

Charles

Jeremy

Rachael200694 · 09/08/2013 20:44

Eek Edward and Bella, good job you realised haha! I think that one would definitely be noticed Grin and it is a shame there are a lot of Bella's isn't it, Isabella is a lovely name Smile

Spoke to my partner and he's liking George and Joseph so we may have found a winner!
George and Pippa definitely close to Peppa Smile
I like Oliver too but my cousin has it, boo! Hmm

To be honest we spent all that time thinking of a lovely long name for her and most of the time she is called mouse!

But she is quite tiny Grin

Did you see that horrid woman on this morning the other day, saying that she would never call he child bella in case she isn't beautiful!!! (also wouldn't let do play with charmaines/Jayden's/'location names') nutter

Rachael200694 · 09/08/2013 21:16

Aww mouse is adorable though if she's diddy :)

And yeah I saw her! She's from the apprentice and she is an absolute MORON.

My favourite part was definitely when she said she hated names that were after places and countries. Then Holly points out she named her own daughter India, makes no sense!!

OP posts:
NannyPlumForPM · 09/08/2013 23:21

Haha I agree! And she said "well india's not really a place" Hmm how much of an age gap is there between DC's? I've forgotten what ttc is like :(

formicadinosaur · 09/08/2013 23:25

William or Wilfred (will or wilf)

Alice for a girl

Rachael200694 · 09/08/2013 23:46

She's a clever lass! India definitely isn't a place haha Smile just an entire country!

There will be a 4 year age gap because we were waiting for me to finish my degree before we had another baby. How many children have you got and what age gap is there between them? :)

NannyPlumForPM · 10/08/2013 00:24

Just the one dd at the minute, but trying for a WHOLE month for #2! I'm aiming for a similar gap- bella'll be 3 in oct so fingers x'd for a speedy conception! When are u due??

Rachael200694 · 10/08/2013 10:39

I'm due early December Smile

Fingers crossed for you!! Took us 3 months the first time and 2 the second so don't be worrying! A month is no time at all Smile
