All through my pregnancy (now 31w) our baby girl was going to be called Flora. Now I have been given a section date for 36w and am just not sure any more!!
Would love some feedback on the following names:
Flora
Martha
Petra
Anya
Middle name to be Mary.

If it helps at all my other children are called:
James
Erica
Samuel

Many thanks to anyone who takes the time to reply Grin

I love Flora Smile

I also really like Martha,I think either will be fine with your other DC names.

MortifiedAdams · 07/08/2013 10:19

Love Petra, but think Flora sounds really good with your other children's names. Wouldn't have Martha Mary.

mumofone25 · 07/08/2013 10:52

I love flora! Also really like Anya from your list. Agree with other posters, Martha Mary is a bit too much!

ShabbyButNotChic · 07/08/2013 11:02

I love love love martha! Really not keen on flora, its just butter isnt it!

Theas18 · 07/08/2013 11:20

do you really want 2 girls names ending in " a"

Practice saying " Well my daughters "Erica and xxxa are in the show/over there/visiting later"

For instance Erica and Anya is a tricky combo with all the a's . Erica and Flora is nicer but a bit "matchy" whereas your boys names are a lovely combo but both individual.

They are all real names though and properly spelled so ultimately go for what you love. Practice saying them out loud though-you'll do it a lot!

Razzdazz · 07/08/2013 11:58

It does appear that I have a thing for 'a' ending names Grin

Martha stands out as really fitting in well with your other children's names. It's very sweet. I see Martha as dark haired, whilst Flora has lighter coloured hair, so perhaps wait and see what she looks like!

Sleepyfergus · 07/08/2013 12:11

I have 2 DDs with 'a' endings and it sounds fine, so don't let that put you off. I do like Flora and it doesn't scream butter at me in the slightest. I like all your options in fact. Congrats and all the best for the birth!

Feelslikea1sttimer · 07/08/2013 12:13

We have chosen Martha Elizabeth as our name (that could all change)

I love Flora, but we have friends with a little girl named Flora and they did get a couple of Hmm faces when they announced it.

I do think all your names are lovely Anya Mary works well

Good Luck

Was dd1s fave book for bloody ages a while.

MortifiedAdams · 07/08/2013 13:00

Coconutty Grin it is Mother Mary. But Martha Mary sounds very very close to it.

Razzdazz · 07/08/2013 13:38

Flora seems to be coming out on top Grin

Petra. 'rose-red city half as old as time'

Saffyz · 07/08/2013 18:24

Anya

Rhubarbgarden · 07/08/2013 19:35

Flora! I love it. Knocks spots off the others.

soontobeslendergirl · 07/08/2013 19:53

Flora or Matha are both lovely. Petra is a dog and Anya sounds like a medical condition :o

PinkGlove · 07/08/2013 20:26

LOVE Martha, but then I'm bias - it's my nieces name. Love Flora too.

Razzdazz · 08/08/2013 09:58

Thanks so much for all your input x

I love Flora best, Martha's really nice but there are more of them than Floras

BlueStarsAtNight · 08/08/2013 11:55

Sounds like you are pleased that Flora is proving popular, and would be disappointed if it wasn't, so I'd say you've made your choice already! I really like Martha too but Flora is also lovely.
