Vincent?

I have three DSs already, and feeling is that DC4 will also be a boy.
DH doesn't want to know, but I'm all out of names having used up 9 already.

I love, love, love Ptolemy and Stanley, but DH has said we cannot use anything ending in y or ie as his surname ends ley and he doesn't want rhyming or sing-songy names.

So Vincent? To go with brothers Gilbert, Francis and Horatio

Or any other brilliant suggestions?

Oh LOVE Vincent. It's fabulous. Don't like Ptolemy or Stanley at all. Mind you I like Tolly...or Ptoli however you shorten Ptolemy. I also like Albie and Joss.

bridgetsmum · 04/08/2013 23:24

Vincent is lovely, and he will be called Vinnie, which is also lovely.
I have a wee cousin called Vinnie, so I may be a wee bit biased.

Stanley is ok, but what the hell is Ptolemy?!?!? That's not even a real word never mind a name. I had to google how to pronounce it Shock

Beamur · 04/08/2013 23:26

There's a Vinnie at DD's school - great name.
Ptolemy is very 'posh' sounding but would not be out of place with your other names.

kiwik · 04/08/2013 23:53

Oh - I love Joss. That's going on the list.
Is Alby short for Albert? My nephew is Albert, known as Bertie (or Bert as he calls himself), so that's not possible.

I quite like Clement, but not sure DH will as he's much more conservative in name choice than I am.

My brother is a Vincent after Don McLeans song and he was never a vinnie always Vince.

NeoMaxiZoomDweebie · 05/08/2013 00:00

Kiwik I know it only as Albie which is the name of a book by Stan Barstow.

Amy106 · 05/08/2013 01:43

I think Vincent would be a great choice and it goes well with the older siblings' names. What would you use for a middle name?

howcomes · 05/08/2013 01:46

Love Vincent, excellent name!

BeyonceCastle · 05/08/2013 02:12

Oh I loved Albie as a middle name but vetoed along with Joshua by DH Sad
Vincent will aways be Don McLean/Van Gogh to me and Vinnie will always be Vinnie Jones Grin but neither of those are necessarily bad things.

MyNameIsSuz · 29/08/2013 21:12

I love Vincent, it's top of our list if we have a DS2. Mine's called Franklin but that obviously wouldn't work, on our list were also

Victor
Wilbur
Tobias
Theodore
Jasper

Any of those work?

miffybun73 · 29/08/2013 21:22

Love Vincent.

Think that a Ptolemy would be teased.

Stanley is one of my least favourite names of all time.

ohmymimi · 29/08/2013 21:30

'Ear 'ear to Vincent.

AFishWithoutABicycle · 29/08/2013 21:43

lilibet · 29/08/2013 21:50

valiumredhead · 29/08/2013 22:16

Oh yes, fab name.

Writerwannabe83 · 29/08/2013 22:18

I think it is a lovely name - you hardly ever hear it these days Smile x

Andanotherthing123 · 30/08/2013 08:39

This is the name I love, but can't get DH to agree to - yet! (i'm wearing him down gradually, ha ha!). Such a lovely, classic, beautiful name.

Sadie204 · 31/08/2013 16:28

Not really a name I would choose but have to say it works very well with your other DS's names.

I love Vincent. What about Edgar or Edwin?

EnjoyEverySandwich · 31/08/2013 19:48

The Crown Prince & Princess of Denmark have a baby Vincent, he is a twin with Josephine. Prince Vince Grin

Phineyj · 31/08/2013 19:49

Price?

MrsDavidBowie · 31/08/2013 19:51

No, no, no.
It sounds as if he should be working on the waltzers wearing a sleeveless vest and tattoos, with a greasy quiff.

Just reminds me of someone in That'll be the Day.

ch1134 · 01/09/2013 14:23

It does go with your other 3 sons' names but I don't like Vinny.

DramaAlpaca · 01/09/2013 14:25

I'm not keen, tbh, but it does go well with the other boys' names.
