Sorry - makes me think of lady's personal bits! But that's just me! If you love it - go for it.

I prefer Elma, Elsie, Esme.

HTH.

SweepTheHalls · 30/07/2013 11:03

I would always think of Elvis, sorry!

IAteTheCake · 30/07/2013 16:15

Perfer Alva, Ava, Eva, Elma....

Rhubarbgarden · 30/07/2013 19:32

Is it a name?

Edithmark · 30/07/2013 19:34

'Elver' is the name for a baby eel...sorry.

OneoftheseBoxes · 30/07/2013 19:34

Makes me think Elvira. How about Elsa?

ZolaBuddleia · 30/07/2013 19:36

Makes me think Elvira too. Conjuring up an image of a baby Mystic Meg.

coffeeandcream · 30/07/2013 19:38

As in the witch child from the Eragon / Inheritance Cycle books?

SmellsLikeWeenSpirits · 30/07/2013 19:38

Baby eels

diddlediddledumpling · 30/07/2013 19:39

I know an Eilbhe, pronounced the same way. It's beautiful, IMO.

Ficidy · 30/07/2013 19:42

I think it's lovely! A girl I know (in Ireland) recently called her little girl Eile (fada on first e, pronounced A-la).

Alba is also quite nice.

Elsa?

PipkinsPal · 30/07/2013 19:52

baby eels - elver

JamieandtheMagicTorch · 30/07/2013 19:55

I prefer Elvie

jamtoast12 · 30/07/2013 20:26

Nice but at first glance all I thought of was vulva!

TalkativeJim · 30/07/2013 20:29

First thought - slimy baby eels, all wriggling like a bowl of spaghetti.

Vitamincandy · 30/07/2013 20:35

Elva means 11 in Swedish. How about Ylva or Elvira?

MargeSimpsonzz · 30/07/2013 20:49

I know of one in Ireland. I think it's an Anglicisation of Eilbhe. I like it. It's pretty.

lol at its similarity to Vulva though! Shock Never thought of that. I would go for Elvie I think. Safer.

UpTheFRIGGinDuff · 30/07/2013 21:05

Grin at the Eel's I never knew...

I just stumbled across it on Nymbler. Assume it's an anglisation of Eilbhe.

Yes to baby eels

How about Elfie?

Manoodledo · 30/07/2013 22:04

I like it, with Elvie as a short form. Lovely.

Turniptwirl · 30/07/2013 23:07

Vulva or Elvis is all I think of

MaryBateman · 30/07/2013 23:20

Nooo!

Reminds me of the French & Saunders sketch where they were supposedly Elvis's daughters - Elvine and Elvess. And yes, it sounds too much like Vulva!

formicadinosaur · 01/08/2013 21:59

Elsa

ChristineDaae · 01/08/2013 22:00

She's pretty cursed and well...odd in Eragon

Frikadellen · 01/08/2013 22:01

I like it.
