Not desperately keen on either.

I quite like Alex, not keen on Jason at all.

Like gymboywalton I also think 1970s scally.

Alex

Alex

BlueStarsAtNight · 29/07/2013 19:35

Alex - Jason also sounds like Wayne/Sharon to me, too 70's and not been left long enough yet. Though Jay is nice.

Bue · 29/07/2013 19:35

As a name, Jason, because it's a strong name with great classical associations. Alex is a diminutive so not really a 'name' to me. But Jason is still a bit 80s. Shame because it's really handsome.

rosyryan · 29/07/2013 19:36

Neither particularly do anything for me, sorry.

TheRealFellatio · 29/07/2013 19:36

Alex no contest. Jason is naff, common and very 70's.

Apileofballyhoo · 29/07/2013 19:41

Alex

Wbdn28 · 29/07/2013 19:52

Jason, simply because Alex is a nickname.

However I'd put Alexander (with nn Alex) far above Jason.

meditrina · 29/07/2013 19:55

Alexander, with Alex as preferred nn.

Jason would work better only if you are an erudite family of classicists (ie if it's obvious you were thinking of the Golden Fleece, not half of Donovan and Minogue).

Rowanred · 29/07/2013 20:00

Jason is terrible . I like Alexander but not Alex tho Xander is nice!

SupermansBigRedPants · 29/07/2013 20:01

Alexander or neither alex or jason. I don't like alex as a stand alone name and I know too many jasons mid to late 20's and they are all fucknuggets. It puts me off.

FairyPenguin · 29/07/2013 20:02

Alex or Alexander. I really don't like Jason!

usualsuspect · 29/07/2013 20:30

Alex is a perfectly fine stand alone name.

Layl77 · 29/07/2013 20:31

Alex

formicadinosaur · 30/07/2013 10:21

Alex is quite timeless but Jason is very 70s and 80s

Bowlersarm · 30/07/2013 10:22

Alex.

I don't like Jason.

I do like Justin though, which is quite close to Jason.

Onyabike · 30/07/2013 10:23

Alex, without question!

ElephantsAndMiasmas · 30/07/2013 10:30

Alex. Jason is a bit crap, sorry - of an equivalent datedness with Kylie.

amessagetoyouYoni · 30/07/2013 11:03

Jason is NOT ready for a comeback. Its...in the same ball park as Darren, to me. Sorry.

Alex is very very popular, but nice enough.

Squooodle · 30/07/2013 11:38

Jason is a terrible name to anyone around in the 70s - it's so bad it is funny. But if you are young, then maybe it sounds good.

Alexander is lovely, but might get more popular still now that Kate and Will have used it.

shoobidoo · 30/07/2013 11:45

Alex is a little dull imo. And unisex.

Jason may sound dated to anyone over 35 but the younger generation won't have any associations. Jason, nickname Jay, could be very cool! Clearly masculine and underused.

Lucyadams184 · 30/07/2013 12:02

I prefer Alex it's more modern.

GeekInThePink · 30/07/2013 12:03

Alex
