Arthur Smilehandsome friendly and slightly quirky

sonlypuppyfat · 28/07/2013 22:45

I went to school with an Arthur his life was made a misery every day there are so many lovely names.

soontobeslendergirl · 28/07/2013 22:46

Alfred

Wbdn28 · 28/07/2013 23:16

Albert. It's a bit quirkier and less staid than Arthur.

GW297 · 28/07/2013 23:27

Arthur

riskit4abiskit · 28/07/2013 23:27

I like both! Like bertie more than artie tho!

DramaAlpaca · 28/07/2013 23:30

I love Arthur! I have a 90 year old Uncle Arthur & he's wonderful. I'm so glad the name has come back into fashion. I don't like Artie though.

Not keen on Albert, I think it's still an old man's name.

sonlypuppyfat · 28/07/2013 23:31

Its all a bit flat caps and whippets though isn't it

SirBoobAlot · 28/07/2013 23:32

Arthur.

Doodledumdums · 28/07/2013 23:39

My son is called Arthur so I LOVE it! He is the most gorgeous 6 month old! Grin

Slightly worried to read Sonly's post though. I very very much hope that my Arthur doesn't get bullied. Was his school life definitely a misery because of his name? DH went to school with an Arthur and he wasn't bullied, he's a very happy chap!

rob99 · 28/07/2013 23:40

Arthur......it's cool

sonlypuppyfat · 28/07/2013 23:45

Perhaps its an age thing the boys at my school were all Garys and Deans!

pickledparsnip · 28/07/2013 23:46

Albert. Less popular and cooler in my opinion. Love Bertie!

Lionchair23 · 29/07/2013 19:05

Arthur has a classier feel I think

Artijoke · 29/07/2013 19:07

Arthur. No bullying nowadays, it's something like 60th in the name rankings. It's a fine name for a king or a whippet owner.

Albert reminds me of the slang Prince Albert.

wickedwitchNE · 29/07/2013 19:09

Love both, Albert won for me just because I loved Bertie and really didn't like Artie... Then DP vetoed both :(

hothereinnit · 29/07/2013 19:10

Arthur is lovely.

Albert I have mixed feelings on - Bertie is cute, but Bert isn't. Albert is still an 'old man's name' to me, and of course there is the 'Prince Albert' slang too - not good.

MargeSimpsonzz · 29/07/2013 19:13

They both are both dreadful. Albert is slightly less dreadful. Arthur is a cat's name.

MargeSimpsonzz · 29/07/2013 19:14

oh, I forgot about the piercing. sorry, have to re-think my answer. As bad as Arthur is, at least it's not a penis piercing. So, Arthur it is then.

FetaCheeny · 29/07/2013 19:35

Not that keen on either but prefer Albert

Doodledumdums · 29/07/2013 21:52

Haha, don't sugar coat it marge!

Mollie272 · 30/07/2013 02:50

Arthur wins hands down for me

baddyfreckleface · 30/07/2013 06:55

Both brilliant names. I know a very cool Albert. But love Arthur too, was on my list for if I had a boy. Reminds me of King Arthur.
Might now favor Albert though because of Bertie option
