Dilemma, help!

If I have a DD, I would love love love to call her Elodie, and if I have a DS, I want to call him William.

These are my top names, but I don't think I can use them because our surname ends with a -bee sound :( and it starts with W! So DD would be Elodie Wbee and DS would be William Wbee :( I'm so sad because I completely adore these names. Is there any way it could work, or does is just sound silly? I'm not sure if I could do it to my DC!

Other names I like for a DD are:

Megan
April
Alice
Louisa
Erin

Love Grace, Charlotte, Kate, Jessica and Caitlin but have close friends and family with these names.

And for DS, I'm struggling a bit. I love traditional names, but many of them don't sound great with our surname's -bee sound :( e.g Charlie, Alfie, Eddie, Freddie etc. Other possible choices are:

Jack
Thomas
Dominic
Nicholas
George (although concerned this will be overused since the arrival of the new prince!)

DH likes James but I really don't - not sure why as it sounds good with our surname and fits the 'traditional' mould, but I can't put my finger on why I dislike it.

Love Adam, Benjamin and Alexander but we already have these names in the family. Arghh!

Any ideas on the -bee dilemma, or any other suggestions based on my 'like' lists?

Would appreciate any feedback!

I this William W is totally fine and alliterative names are cool. Not sure about the girls name as it's more of a rhymes tng which is why I didnt go with my first choice and have regretted. Will your girl be able to carry it off? She can always marry at 16!!!!!!!!!
I like all your other names.

Did you change your surname when you married? Change back.

Megan, April and Louisa are all lovely names and from the info you've given, would be fine with your surname IMHO. Likewise Thomas, Nicholas and George.

Hannah
Olivia
Serena
Julia
Miranda
Georgia
Melissa

Isaac
Jacob
Oliver
Samuel
Charles
John
Peter

Obviously it's hard to know for sure without knowing the actual name, but I can't see anything wrong with either of them.
I'm imagining your surname to be Willoughby and Elodie Willoughby and William Willoughby sound fine to me.

LazyMonkeyButler · 29/07/2013 01:51

I was also imagining your surname to be Willoughby Smile, and think that Elodie and William are still OK. William less so though, as he will be Will Willoughby - a double Will IYSWIM. I see no problem with Elodie.

Louisa is lovely (I may be slightly biased), and of your boys suggestions I would go for Jack or Thomas (I have both) Wink.

Thanks for your replies everyone! You've all made me feel a lot better :) just got to convince DH on Elodie now!! Hehe!
