Elliot and Stella

I already have an Elliot. DC3 due in about 5 weeks and I'm stuck on Stella for a girl. Is the double 'ell' sound too much? Ell and Stell (not that we ever shorten Elliot) There is DS2 in the middle whose name is entirely different so I wouldn't always be saying the two names right next to each other.

Stella is a fabby name. Don't over think the 'el' thing just go with it. She will be cool but grounded.

I think it's fine, both brilliant names, I'd have loved Stella but unfortunately it rhythms with our surname and we had 2 boys who wouldn't have liked it

Itsaburrdiee · 28/07/2013 20:29

I think they're a lovely combination of names.

Manoodledo · 28/07/2013 20:37

Yes, I probably am overthinking it. Thanks for positive feedback. Unfortunately, while the name is a bit of a fait accompl in my head (I've been thinking of the baby as Stella for ages now), DH isn't yet completely sold, but unless he comes up with something better in the next few weeks...

love both names and they sound fine together

soontobeslendergirl · 28/07/2013 20:48

The other similar name we had which we couldn't use either was Jenna.

WLmum · 28/07/2013 20:58

Love Stella - do it! I love dd3s name, DH wasn't so convinced but like you I said unless he could come up with something better...

burberryqueen · 28/07/2013 20:59

i like it, they are quite different but have an internal rhyme. go for it.

Wbdn28 · 28/07/2013 22:30

I think there is too much "ell" with them both put together. Maybe I'm overthinking it as well though!

Leeds2 · 28/07/2013 23:10

Stella is lovely!

mrsfassbender · 28/07/2013 23:13

Lovely names, sound and look really nice together

Manoodledo · 29/07/2013 10:58

Thanks all, and I can't believe nobody mentioned beer Grin!

They sound fine together.

Stella doesn't instantly remind me of beer, not the way Felix makes me think 'cat food' or Flora makes me think 'icky margarine'.

Theyre fine together. Stella is lovely.

They sound very good together!

Plokahontas · 01/08/2013 21:04

I'm pleased to hear there is a DS2, because I saw those names together and immediately thought "Stelliot" like Bennifer or Brangelina... but maybe I'm mental Grin
