It's a girls name to me!

Meringue33 · 27/07/2013 07:52

Love it
Tho think its about to become v popular...

ThisIsYourSong · 27/07/2013 08:53

Why is it going to become popular? I've got a Lawrence and it doesn't get shortened (I just use full names for my family, it's just a thing I do, not sure why).

Anyway we went with Lawrence rather than Laurence as apparently Laurence is a girls name in France.

KoalaFace · 27/07/2013 08:54

Like in Little Women! Love it.

looki · 27/07/2013 12:41

Reminds me of Little Women too. I quite like it but not enough to use it personally.

Its one of those strange names for me because although Laura (for a girl obviously) is ok, I detest the name Lauren.

LaurieFairyCake · 27/07/2013 12:46

Obviously I love it Wink

PipkinsPal · 27/07/2013 12:48

My cousin (f) is a Laurie but I also know a man called Laurie too. I think it's unisex or as my mother says "a bisexual name". Confused

itsnothingoriginal · 27/07/2013 12:59

I have a DS called Laurie - we get a lot of compliments on his name Smile

It's unisex imo but much more popular for boys - I know about 5 little boys with this name.

squoosh · 27/07/2013 16:44

Grin at 'bisexual name'.

It's a man's name to me although I'm never sure how to definitively pronounce it, 'Lorry', 'law-ree' something else?

Wbdn28 · 27/07/2013 17:46

Fine as a nickname for Laurence.
