So, Junior Panda almost has a name... DH prefers one, I prefer another. It's DEADLOCK - we need your help!

  1. Aubin Laurence Stephen [2 syllable surname starting with A]
  2. Felix Laurence Stephen [same surname]
  3. They're both hideous
  4. Either is good

Stephen as you might guess is a non-negotiable family name. I won't say who prefers which but would love to hear your thoughts.

I vote Felix

I also like Gabriel and Bartholomew.

SadPander · 25/07/2013 17:54

I love Felix, DH has the cat fixation but can't say it bothers me. I think its a lovely name. Not so keen on Aubin sorry. Have you thought about Aubry? Not to everyone's taste but I came across it while looking at 1920's boys names and think its quite cute.

italladdsup · 25/07/2013 17:59

Another vote for Felix

ToomuchIsBackOnBootcamp · 25/07/2013 18:00

Aubin is meh, and terrible with an A surname.
Felix is ok-ish not my choice but I can see it might suit some babies.

Gabriel is fabulous, pick that!!!

Yika · 25/07/2013 18:01

Aubin is quite horrible but far far better than Auberon or Aubrey which both sound wet. Aubin would be fine as a middle name. Felix is too trendy for my taste though it is a nice name.

MagicBaguette · 25/07/2013 18:04

I prefer Aubin.

Haven't actually heard it before, but I actually really like it! (My choices are normally very safe!)

I would perhaps prefer it as a middle name though - Laurence Aubin Stephen is my favourite combo.

Not a fan of Felix

BungleGeorgeAndZippy · 25/07/2013 18:18

I don't like either in its entirety. Felix is nice but not keen on the Laurence Stephen (too Stephen Laurence for me)

formicadinosaur · 25/07/2013 19:20

Laurence or Lawrence is Lovely

Badvoc · 25/07/2013 19:23

3
Sorry.

youarewinning · 25/07/2013 19:31

Love Gabriel. I also like Laurence and Stephen. Felix is my favourite of the original 2 but not overly keen on either personally.

What about Laurence Felix Stephen?

MorrisZapp · 25/07/2013 19:36

3

ZolaBuddleia · 25/07/2013 19:41

Not keen on Aubin, too like auburn.

Felix, not keen at all, sorry.

How about Anselm?

Playdoughcaterpillar · 25/07/2013 19:43

Another 3 sorry!
Love Gabriel and Gabe as an abbreviation.
Felix is a bit wet IMHO and Aubin is just too unusual, I would hate to have a name that makes people go 'eh? How do you spell that?

SoftSheen · 25/07/2013 19:44

Felix is great! :)

johnnycomelurky · 25/07/2013 19:53

People's preferences are very funny. I like Felix quite a lot and think Aubin is interesting and would grow on me. But I REALLY dislike Laurence as a first name and think Laurie as a nn for it is terrible, so I clearly go against the grain on this thread.

johnnycomelurky · 25/07/2013 19:55

Oh and by funny I meant it's interesting how different people's tastes are.

FetaCheeny · 25/07/2013 20:22

I've never heard Aubin but quite like it! Smile
Not as keen on Felix but it's not terrible. Don't like Laurence.

CPtart · 25/07/2013 20:25

But love Laurence as a first name.

ems1910 · 25/07/2013 21:29

I'm pronouncing it Or-bin?

Either way it's 3 here too although Felix if I had to choose

ems1910 · 25/07/2013 21:34

Just caught up on the rest of the thread lol.

Gabriel is lovely :)
It is interesting to get opinions but please go with what you love!

Andanotherthing123 · 25/07/2013 21:53

I love the name Felix, it's easy to say, there won't be three in his class at school and for those who think cats, I know a Felix and it's defo not something I EVER associate with him. I like Aubin, but don't know how to say it.

BlueStarsAtNight · 25/07/2013 22:51

I don't particularly like either of your top 2, but if pushed I'd go Felix as I really don't like Aubin.

Love Gabriel though, go for that!

FingersCrossedLegsNot · 25/07/2013 23:35

Love Felix

XBenedict · 25/07/2013 23:37

I prefer the first one, I know quite a few Felix's now.

mummylin2495 · 25/07/2013 23:39
