And which spelling? Yasemin, Yasemine, Yasmin - all pronounced with a SSS (YaSS) sound not a zzz sound (Yaz).

Yasmin is a contraceptive pill....

WafflyVersatile · 24/07/2013 12:41

I'm fairly certain it was a name before it was a contraceptive pill.

Sleepyhoglet · 24/07/2013 12:45

Not for me.

I like the name, but the only Yasmin I have known was my physcho neighbour from Hell, so I couldn;t go there.

I also prefer Jasmine.

Lovely name Grin I like the pronunciation yass-meen.

A low-income family, oh! The horror! Wink

I much prefer Yasmin to Jasmine.

Yasmina is also lovely.

I prefer Jasmine too

I like Yasmin a lot (and Jasmine too). Keep the spelling simple.

I think some posters like to model themselves on Katie Hopkins. God alone knows why Confused

I know lots of them, all of MIL's friends are called it (it's the islamic equivilant of Susan or Mary). I also know loads of Yas/Jasmines who are children and teenagers.

I love it as a name but it's a bit too common for my liking.
