Riven for a boy?

DH loves this name it's apparently old English but to me I feel it sounds like we are trying to be quirky? Any thoughts appreciated....?

I prefer River - which is a more obvious and brave 'hippy' name.

Riven - ribbon.

A bit of a negative word.

I would assume the parent of Riven was into LARP, dressed as an elven king at weekends and had the box set of Game of Thrones.

I immediately thought its a girls name on MN.

Yes a very special name on here. I wonder if she ever came back with a new name.
