OK ... what do we think of Tarina?

Sorry for having two threads on the go.

DH and i have actually managed to pull the same face: 'hmm, maybe' about this name.

It's as close as we've got to agreeing on something!

We like Tara but it rhymes directly with my name. That would be a bit twee ...

So ... Tarina - thoughts please?

(Names we cant agree on:
me: Darcy, Tabitha + Harriett.
DH: Francesca)

puppy Grin - ahh but it can be an inspiration. I just love opinions.

Schmaltzing - just been on that thread - Giselle! Lovely - and DH and i just might be in agreement on this!

Well puppymonkey it seems like OP needs some additional name suggestions as not only has she changed her mind and mentioned a few different names on this thread, she has another name thread going too!

Seems like she needs & wants all the help she can get so I was just trying to be helpful!! Smile

SuzySheepSmellsNice · 21/07/2013 21:07

I have a beautiful friend called Varenka, which I thought was a very unusual name, and very pretty.

Littlecherublegs · 21/07/2013 21:08

Oh crossed posts again!!!

fluffyraggies am happy to help!! Smile

fluffyraggies · 21/07/2013 21:10

suzy - really LOL'd.

It was Marina. And yeah, we only had one telly and my mum and dad used to watch it :)

Made up and ridiculous. But hey, if you want to condemn her to a lifetime is spelling it and raised eyebrows, go right ahead.

RoadToTuapeka · 21/07/2013 21:18

I have met one Marina, who is lovely, but I take the name too literally and always think of an actual marina with lots of boats tied up, so I don't like it as a name.

fluffyraggies · 21/07/2013 21:26

Onesleep - what, Giselle? Not made up.

Or have you not read the thread perhaps Hmm

That's the last time I suggest names on these threads. My favourite name has now been rubbished :(

Onesleeptillwembley · 21/07/2013 21:50

No, Giselle is lovely. I meant tsarina. In between reading, getting a drink and posting the thread has moved on a lot.

SuzySheepSmellsNice · 21/07/2013 21:59

fluffy Grin

fluffyraggies · 21/07/2013 22:00

Oh no! Akiss!

Loads of people have loved Marina! I was a bit stung by some of the Darcy haters at first. But, y'know, every single name will have some grotty connection if you think long enough about it. If someone told me their little girl was called Marina i would honestly think ''what a lovely and unusual name''

onesleep - It's ok. It's late and i'm hormonal :)

Smile Marina is beautiful. I know two - both lovely as well.

valiumredhead · 21/07/2013 22:10

Marina is lovelySmile

SJisontheway · 21/07/2013 22:14

How about Triona, pronounced Tree-na. Often short for Caitriona. Although I would prefer Caitriona. Great name

hawkmcqueen · 21/07/2013 22:53

Or Serena? Selena? Taryn? Random but sprung to mind!

Wbdn28 · 21/07/2013 23:38

I like Tarina! Carina even better.

squoosh · 22/07/2013 00:20

I like Marina a lot, I also like Carina even thought there is/was a Toyota model of that name.

Tarina sounds like a name Enid Blyton would give a princess who joins the Upper Fourth at Mallory Towers. Princess Tarina of Maldarovia.
