Isla Mia Harvey or Isla Rose Harvey

Mia was our original baby name but we now prefer Isla as a first name but i do still like the name Mia.

Rose because baby is getting my partners surname, and Rose is my middle name so she would have a name from each of us if that makes sense!

Which do you think flows better?

I actually prefer

Isla Mia Rose

as Isla and Mia both end in A with the same amount of syllables so Rose puts a lovely end to it. SmileSmile

I much prefer Isla Rose. It flows better.

If you still like Mia, keep the name incase you have another daughter

Onesleeptillwembley · 20/07/2013 13:08

Isla Rose flows better and (IMO) is prettier. Smile

My niece has just been Christened Isla Rose :) Very pretty.

I like the flow of Isla Mia though. Sounds like a warm greeting in a lovely exotic language if you say it without a gap :)

saffronwblue · 20/07/2013 13:23

I prefer Isla Mia (my DC's surname is Harvey too!)

NTMummy059 · 20/07/2013 13:27

Just cannot decide! I like each one equally and so does DP .. Thank you all so far :)

Isla Rose, it has a better flow. I agree you might want to keep Mia in case you have another daughter

NTMummy059 · 20/07/2013 13:41

That's a good point, this is DC1 so very possible we could use Mia in the future I guess

Isla Rose xx

Keeping names is an interesting thought. I've got 3 DDs with 2 names each and so technically have used up my top 6 names for a girl. Never thought about it like that Grin

What about all 3 names, OP, as another poster has said: Isla-Mia Rose.

JumpingJackSprat · 20/07/2013 14:04

Isla rose is much nicer and theres a good reason to have rose as family connection

BlueStarsAtNight · 20/07/2013 21:14

Isla Rose flows so much better - I know Rose is a popular mn, but it is very pretty and you have a family reason to use it too. I'm not keen on having first and middle name both being short, 2 syllables, ending in a, I'd def hold on to Mia.

boardingschoolbaby · 20/07/2013 21:23

Isla Rose gets my vote.

GW297 · 20/07/2013 22:08

Isla Rose is beautiful!

NTMummy059 · 21/07/2013 11:04

Think we will hold onto Mia as a future name and use Rose for her middle name, I think it does flow better now I've read it out loud a few times.

Thanks all! Knew mumsnet would help, as we aren't telling anyone in real life our baby name yet!
