I'm only 11 weeks, but DH and I have already been through the book and are stumped! We need a boy and girl name to go with a short surname and previous DCs Catherine and Alistair.

Totally stuck already! Help!

Previous DC's - makes them sound like you are discarding them in favour of the new baby Grin

You have ages to go - enjoy the process and see what you like along the way :)

But... names I consider 'similar' to your elder two.

Johnathan
Nathan
Daniel
Christopher
Matthew

Sarah
Louise
Amanda
Jacquelin
Louise

Thank you for all suggestions! chipping yes, i take your point.... Grin
Thanks Lucy, I love their names! I think that's making this harder - I've used my favourite ever girls name and a boys name I love (they are few and far between) already.

Ooh, love Rosalind and Felicity - hadn't considered those. J names interesting, mine's a J name (nearly one you picked actually), so I may be biased....! Anna was Alistair's "girl" name, but I think we've decided not to duplicate initials unless there's only one option.

Great ideas so far - please keep them coming!

If you like Rosalind what about Miranda or Bianca (Shakespeare) or Juliet (already mentioned)

If you like Felicity what about Harriet, Penelope, Phillippa (although I suspect I am having spelling issues tonight) or Caroline

MakeGlutenFreeHay · 18/07/2013 19:26

Hmm, good suggestions - I do like a bit of Shakespeare, but I am less certain on those. I suggested Rosalind to DH though and he was very positive, so that's good! I now need an equally good boy's name or I'll be hoping it's a girl just because of the name....!

Continuing the Shakespearean theme, you could always put Orlando in the mix (Rosalind's lover) for a boy's name.

Other suggestions for girls: Quin(n), Annaliese, Elspeth; boys: Kerr/Keir, Jasper, Casey

soontobeslendergirl · 18/07/2013 21:27

Glad he likes Rosalind :)

Let's see if we can get a boys name now:

Elliot
Innes
Miles
Torin
Cameron
Logan
Douglas
Duncan

ThePowerof3 · 18/07/2013 21:59

Ophelia?

Ikeameatballs · 18/07/2013 22:06

Edith
Lydia
Penelope
Frances
Martha

Samuel
Gregory
David

Boy - Lachlan or Hugo?

Girl - Caroline and Alexandra come to mind but I see you don't like duplication if initials (the same reason we didn't use Alexandra for DD2!) or Victoria, Eleanor, Sophie or Georgia?

MakeGlutenFreeHay · 19/07/2013 08:09

I love Elliot and Logan - I've suggested them for both DCs so far...to lukewarm response, sadly. Also Ellis. Cameron has come up before but with our surname it becomes a Jilly Cooper character....!

Jasper, interesting...

Thank you all for the ideas! I know how rubbish we are with boys names - it's only thanks to the last Ashes series that Alistair got named! (Sadly none leaping out at us this time)

How about:
Rosanna
Annalea
Beatrice
Helena

Also like Lydia and Eleanor from above

Boys are much harder we had 2 dd's but our boy name was George Philip

soontobeslendergirl · 19/07/2013 09:37

Okay,

on a sporting theme:

Andrew (Murray)
Austin (Rugby guy)
Ben (Ainsley)
Christopher (Hoy)
Lewis (Hamilton)
Bradley (Wiggins) Bleeuurgghhh - both the name and the person
Theo (Walcott)
etc.

Can't think of any more :)

MakeGlutenFreeHay · 20/07/2013 16:57

The way today's Ashes is going, it might be Joe (Root)!
