So I like Reuben for ds1 and with it not being top 10 even better ( the only others we both like are George and James, top 10ish and I don't like them enough) I wondered if its going up in popularity as I've heard two Reubens recently. Don't know if that's just as I'm expecting a boy!

I've got a Robin. The only one I know!

squoosh · 15/07/2013 17:49

It's definitely getting popular.

CointreauVersial · 15/07/2013 18:28

Nice name. It might end up shortened to Ruby, though.

YummyYummyYum · 16/07/2013 14:42

I like Reuben.

HappyJoyful · 16/07/2013 14:43

growing in popularity, I've heard 2 recently.

valiumredhead · 16/07/2013 14:56

Love it, also like Reuven.

I like Reuben. Lovely name. I'd pick it over Sebastian.

My ds middle name is Reuben, we couldn't decide between two names so we just used both, he is diffidently his first name though, it is weird to think what if we named him that instead

Redblackcar2 · 16/07/2013 16:45

Sorry dislike Reuben and Sebastian find them a bit trendy and try hard . Love James and like George .

valiumredhead · 16/07/2013 18:15

Trendy? Sebastian is a classic name surely?

Misfit13 · 16/07/2013 20:05

Def. v. popular now. Oh, and my Reuben reckons it's lame to be named after a sandwich!

Layl77 · 16/07/2013 20:45

It's Old Testament so surely not trendy? And top 10 are surely trending names right now?

I have a Reuben who is 9. I've only met a couple of others. Obviously I think it's a great name! And he's never been called Ruby by anyone. Only I shorten it - to Rooly or Roo.

pygmy · 16/07/2013 21:25

Bible names can be trendy and date too. Think Jason, Mark and Paul! Reuben is very trendy right now along with Isaac, Joshua, Noah etc.

KnittedWaffle · 16/07/2013 21:29

I love it! Also love Sebastien.

justhayley · 16/07/2013 22:25

Have no idea about it's popularity - although I don't know any but I love love love it! Rueben James sounds really nice if you havnt got a middle name

Beamur · 16/07/2013 22:28

2 Reubens in my DD's Yr1 class. Lovely name and probably getting more popular - I think it was on our long list if DD was a boy.

GrandmaWeLoveYou · 16/07/2013 22:30

Reuben, yes,yes,yes!

othersideofchannel · 17/07/2013 15:14

I like Reuben. I know 2 little Reubens, aged 7 and 4. One sometimes gets called Reuby (pron Ruby...). May be becoming more popular.

How about Tristan, Quentin, Rowan or Robin as alternatives with a similar feel?
