Hi,
Just wondering if Ruprecht (boy's name) is ok? DH's idea...not sure myself. Thoughts? Be honest and thanks!

Have you seen Dirty Rotten Scoundrels?

Scruffey · 04/07/2013 22:22

Never heard of it, would hesitate for that reason alone. How many people are going to be told the name and say "what?"

MildDrPepperAddiction · 04/07/2013 22:22

Hmmmmm........I wouldn't be keen on it but if you like it go ahead.

LesAnimaux · 04/07/2013 22:23

How do you pronounce it?

nemno · 04/07/2013 22:24

Have you got a german connection? English version is Rupert.

tethersend · 04/07/2013 22:26

Numberlock · 04/07/2013 22:28

Ruprecht do you want the genital cuff?

joydevivre · 04/07/2013 22:29

Your username says it all OP

MortaIWombat · 04/07/2013 22:30

A common name for the devil in Germany, apparently.

Weegiemum · 04/07/2013 22:32

I came on to also say Dirty Rotten Scoundrels! (Great film though!!)

CatelynStark · 04/07/2013 22:33

Oklahoma! Oklahoma! Oklahoma!

It's a no from me Grin

hellymelly · 04/07/2013 22:35

I'd forgotten the genital cuff- that had me weeping with laughter.

MrsHuxtable · 04/07/2013 22:40

Yes to the St Nicholas connection in German. Very negative. Nobody would call their child this in Germany. Might as well call him Satan.

sonlypuppyfat · 04/07/2013 22:40

Is this a wind up

Thanks everyone...just googled dirty rotten scoundrels and ruprecht and am now crying with laughter. Apparently DH has quite the sense of humour and even suggested my username (I am new to mumsnet...). Will close this discussion down ...and back to the drawing board.
