Jude for a girl?

If we have a girl, DH is keen on Jude for a girl, but I'm not so sure... He doesn't like Judith or Judy, which I offered as alternatives.
So what do you think? I love Jude for a boy, but is Jude nice as a girl's name as well? FWIW, our surname begins with an S and is three syllables.

I love the actual name, for a boy, but could never use it due to the tragic Jude the Obscure (Thomas Hardy).

I think Jude as a standalone name is a boy's name. As a slightly masculine nickname for Judith, it's fine.

Maybe discuss with your husband what you both like about the name Jude. Is it the "Ju" sound? If so you could consider alternatives like June, Juno or Julia.

If you like Jude because you think it sounds cool and a bit androgenous then I would go with Judith or even at a stretch Julia on the birth certificate and just call her Jude from birth.

Hahah im a female Jude and I love it - unlike some female names it’s strong and people who know me would testify to that!
