Finally decided on name for DS2 due any day....Oscar.

Someone I know got a puppy at the weekend and has named him Oscar.

Would this bother you or make you reconsider?

No, Oscar's a lovely name.

Beamur · 01/07/2013 20:19

No.

AllegraLilac · 02/07/2013 01:58

Nah. Your kid will outlive that dog.

curlyclaz13 · 02/07/2013 03:17

love it my oscar is half asleep mid feed at the moment. Smile

polkadotsrock · 02/07/2013 08:59

My instinct is no, but I like the name Mollie and friends of ours have just used that for a pet and it has put me off a bit. It shouldn't though, and Oscar is cool!!

MortifiedAdams · 02/07/2013 09:00

I wouldnt let it put me off.

Ragwort · 02/07/2013 09:03

No - apparently my son's name is the one of the most 'favourite' dogs' names (didn't know such lists existed Grin) - doesn't put me off at all, but I don't have anything much to do with the dog world and none of my close friends/family have dogs.

forgetmenots · 02/07/2013 09:22

No - Oscar is a widely used name for both dogs and boys! Keep it :)

ABitLesMis · 02/07/2013 11:08

Thanks for the replies. Has made me feel much better about it Smile
Lets just hope baby Oscar appears on time!

Nope. I have a Barnaby and I cannot tell you how many dogs called Barney I have since come across. Doesn't bother me at all.

BigW · 05/07/2013 20:59

Love it, love it, love it! I also love Milo and know a dog with that name. Wouldn't put me off. DH vetoed though Sad

Queazy · 05/07/2013 21:02

No, not at all - go for it! x

miffybun73 · 05/07/2013 21:43

No, it's a lovely name :)

louisianablue2000 · 05/07/2013 21:48

Who calls a dog Oscar? Wierdos. Perfectly sensible name for a child though.

Xmasbaby11 · 05/07/2013 21:50

It's a very popular name (for boys), not only dogs! No, it wouldn't bother me.

ChangeyMcChangeName · 05/07/2013 21:53

No. it's fine. My friend on the other hand called her son Jake and within two months of his birth, their other friends got a dog and called him Jake! Caused a bit of bitterness I can tell thee!

FlightsOfWhimsy · 05/07/2013 21:55

Grin @ your kid will outlive the dog.

Kaekae · 05/07/2013 23:48

Oscar is everywhere right now, they probably out number the many dogs called it nowadays.

DonkeysDontRideBicycles · 06/07/2013 19:12

If it's a friend not family owning the dog I'd not worry.

bugsybill · 06/07/2013 19:26

No. Oscar is better as a boy name.
