DH isn't keen, but I love this name for a girl. I'm just wondering what MN think, and wether it is worth keeping it as a possibility!

Love it! And there's a very awesome statue in north devon named Verity.

However, ones with the name have said they didn't like having to explain/spell it for people. But you'd have that with all sorts of names.

eurozammo · 30/06/2013 09:27

Love it. One of my top choices.

Indith · 30/06/2013 09:29

verity is lovely. I adore it.

Graceparkhill · 30/06/2013 09:33

Lovely name.

Nivet · 30/06/2013 14:17

Only ever met one and she was lovely, it's a great name. Do it!

Onetwo34 · 30/06/2013 14:20

I really like it but if your DH doesn't then surely it's a no-go?

WynkenBlynkenandNod · 30/06/2013 14:21

I know two really lovely people called Verity. The younger is named after the older of the two and they are both great, so a yes fom me. However if your DH isn't keen I think you need to go back to the drawing board,

picnicbasketcase · 30/06/2013 14:23

I quite like it but the more I look at it, the more it sounds kind of sneaky, like ferretty? Might just be me though

GwendolineMaryLacey · 30/06/2013 14:24

Gorgeous. Wanted it for dd2 but DH wouldn't have it :( She has it as a middle name though.

JassyRadlett · 30/06/2013 14:30

Really love it. I have only known ace people called Verity.

TotallyEggFlipped · 30/06/2013 14:32

I think it's a great name.

MaxinePeakedistrict · 30/06/2013 14:35

Love it - one of my faves.

PistachioTruffle · 30/06/2013 20:33

Thankyou all for your input! DH isn't keen on it in a non-committal, 'it's not my favourite name ever' type of way, rather than hating it completely. I'm hoping if I keep it on the potential list it might grow on him! For what it's worth, I'm not in love with any of his clear favourites either, which means we'll probably end up with a compromise name, which makes me rather sad. Or dc could turn out to be a boy, problem solved! Grin

Not my taste.

I prefer Vera.

What types of names does your dh like?

GooseyLoosey · 01/07/2013 12:18

Like it alot.

GwendolineMaryLacey · 01/07/2013 12:20

We have a compromise name. It's ok and it's now 'her' but it's not Verity :( I'll never quite forgive him for that.

SirDoris · 01/07/2013 12:24

Love it. Know one aged 6mo.

squoosh · 01/07/2013 12:33

A very prim and plain name.

TenthMuse · 01/07/2013 12:42

It's pretty. Not exactly my taste - possibly a bit 'good girl' for me - but would admire on someone else's baby!

PistachioTruffle · 01/07/2013 12:48

bugsybill, DH's current favourites are Georgia (not to my taste at all, possibly because of a very annoying and spoilt one I knew as a child) and Leah, which is nice enough but I don't love it.

Lol at the prim and proper and good girl connotations. I know two Veritys, they were mental fun friends when we were teenagers - doubt their parents enjoyed their behaviour much though! Grin Love the name though (mum of boys here so didn't get to use it), pretty without being sickly, unusual without being 'out there'.

luscus · 01/07/2013 15:37

Nice name. I know of two so wonder if it's becoming more popular?
