Sorry for those of you who have already seen my innumerable boring threads about a middle name for DD2, who is due in 8 weeks ( :) ) and will be called Alice. Here are the current front runners - what do you think, and any other ideas?

Alice Vivienne
Alice Ethel
Alice Daisy
Alice Violet

I'm not so keen on Alice Ethel but I like the others. I prefer Violet or Vivienne because I like the sound of a two-syllable name followed by a three-syllable one.

Just to be contrary, how about Alice Constance?

Other names I think would go well after Alice are: Margaret, Sylvia, Olivia

Or something floral, along the lines of Violet?

AnythingNotEverything · 24/06/2013 16:35

I might be having an Alice (currently 24 weeks) and we've just started to think about middle names.

When I saw you post my first thought was Alice Jemima ... But maybe because that fits nicely with our surname.

Anyway, of your list my favourite is Alice Violet. This would be on our list too, but if we get two girls I'd like to call the second Violet!

fussychica · 24/06/2013 17:17

Alice IS the best girls name Grin
DS would have been Alice May if had been a girl.
Not keen on your combos - sorry- although I really like Daisy, just not sure it flows with Alice. Ethel is horrid. All these things really depend on how it sounds with your surname.
Alice Eleanor
Alice Olivia
Alice Rose
Alice Joy

I have an Alice Maud, who could have been an Alice Eve.

JazzAnnNonMouse · 24/06/2013 17:49

Alice violet is the nicest on your list.

Alice Ethel the one I like least - doesn't flow right (an Ethel is a horrid name!) Grin

Meringue33 · 24/06/2013 17:53

Alice Rebecca
Alice Rosalind
Alice Lily

CaptainJamesTKirk · 24/06/2013 17:55

I know an Alice Jasmine

CaptainJamesTKirk · 24/06/2013 17:57

Gag posted too quickly...

As well as knowing an Alice Jasmine, out of your list I like Alice Violet. Alice Ethel is awful sorry, as well as being a hideous middle name it doesn't flow very well, I wouldn't use it unless it was a dearly loved granny's first name.

StealthPolarBear · 24/06/2013 17:58

ours is Alice Audrey

GwendolineMaryLacey · 24/06/2013 18:05

Mine is Alice Verity Violet

Longdistance · 24/06/2013 18:10

Mine is Alice Elizabeth.

Could have been Rose, as dd1's middle name is Lilly.

NowPlayingZone · 24/06/2013 19:22

Love Vivienne & violet from your choices.
Also Mabel or Lilian?

LadyRockingham · 24/06/2013 19:30

Alice Ann is lovely.

mooglet · 24/06/2013 19:49

I have an Alice Nancy (although I'm now pregnant with DC4 and half wish I hadn't used Nancy already, as I like it as a first name too......)

mooglet · 24/06/2013 19:50

And I forgot to say, I like Alice Vivienne best, and think Alice Ethel sounds a bit clumsy.

EstelleGetty · 24/06/2013 19:52

I love Alice Vivienne. My mum is Alice Marie!

Elquota · 24/06/2013 20:46

Alice Violet would be a lovely combination.

blondieminx · 24/06/2013 20:47

I know an Alice Kate.

Alice Audrey is v elegant! Smile

Dancealot · 24/06/2013 20:50

Alice Emily sounds nice to me, or I like Alice Elizabeth suggested above.

baskingseals · 24/06/2013 20:52

Alice Louisa

Alice Marguerite

Also really like Alice Vivienne.

devonsmummy · 24/06/2013 20:58

How about Alice Eliza ?

WheresTheHoneyMummy · 24/06/2013 21:09

I have an Alice Daisy - both old family names that we loved. She also has a 2nd middle name.

SisterMatic · 24/06/2013 21:21

I know an Alice Julia.

StealthPolarBear · 24/06/2013 21:26

thank you blondie. I don't think they go wonderfully well together, but I like the names individually, and DH liked them
