Which spelling. She would be known as Milly/Millie to the family.

I personally love Emilie, but I feel the majority on here will prefer Emily!

Millie is one of my favourite names.

VBisme · 23/06/2013 19:07

Emily, I misread Emilie as Emile, and would assume a boy.

toffeelolly · 23/06/2013 19:08

Emile love it. Millie is also one of my favorite namesWink

MolotovCocktail · 23/06/2013 19:10

Emily, as Emilie looks too much like Emile.

curlew · 23/06/2013 19:10

Why on earth would you spell a name in a way that will mean she will have to correct people all her life? Everyone will assume Emily.

Emily.

If you want to call her Milly use that, or Millicent, with the nn Milly.

But I do like Emily, Milly, , and Millicent.

EspressoMonkey · 23/06/2013 19:15

Emilie, i love French names! Emilie is DD's best friend but i have to prounounce it Emeeeeeeleeeeeee otherwise DD tells me off for being an embarrasing foreigner.

CPtart · 23/06/2013 19:15

Emily.
Millie is one of my most hated names....but Emily is lovely.

Scruffey · 23/06/2013 19:17

Emily.
Emilie is French. Assuming you are not French/in France, use Emily.

Ihatepeas · 23/06/2013 19:17

Emily. She will be forever correcting people otherwise.
Gorgeous name.. love it shortened to Milly!

Alisvolatpropiis · 23/06/2013 19:31

Emily.

Makes life easier to go with the standard spelling of the country you live in.

cupcake78 · 23/06/2013 19:39

Well that's fairly unanimous Grin. Thank you

I'd use Emilie but my family are French (I'm therefore used to having to explain/spell out my own name all the time too)...in fact that was our main contender for DD2 but DH's cousin had an Amelia a few months ahead of us and we thought that would be too close.

Bluestocking · 23/06/2013 19:45

Emily, unless you live in a Francophone country. And why shorten it to Milly? Emily is a much nicer name!

RaRaZ · 25/06/2013 17:24

Emily - but if you want to call her Milly, why not just call her Milly and not have the 'formal' name of Emily? ...though, like a couple of others, I prefer Emily anyway.

exoticfruits · 25/06/2013 17:37

Emily- if you live in UK.

DorisIsWaiting · 25/06/2013 17:39

I have an Emily nn Milly I'm obviously biased but really dislike your alternative spelling.

acheekyvimto · 25/06/2013 22:45

Another with an Emily. She has no problem with people spelling her name.

I'm glad I took leave of my senses, my 21 year old self wanted to call her Emmie- Leigh.

DramaAlpaca · 25/06/2013 22:47

Emily.

Blanketsandpillows · 25/06/2013 22:47

Emily.

IsThisAGoodIdea · 25/06/2013 22:48

Emily.

bugsybill · 26/06/2013 00:52

Emily.

Emilie looks too much like the (less commonly used) boys name Emile.

cupcake78 · 26/06/2013 02:59

I think it might be Emily then Grin
