Both nice names, but popular. Which goes best with your surname? Personally I prefer James to Harry.

bugsybill · 22/06/2013 12:39

I think they fall into the same 'category' of names so I agree ^ go with what sounds best with your surname/middle name.

bugsybill · 22/06/2013 12:40

Edited to add: if you are likely to spend time in the US go with James or Harry = Hairy.

TheBirdsFellDownToDingADong · 22/06/2013 12:42

James is much nicer, and I imagine less popular for a baby.

Harry has become popular.

I like it though.

2lilgirls · 22/06/2013 12:43

I prefer James.

hanahsaunt · 22/06/2013 12:43

Have both - we did Smile.

rockybalboa · 22/06/2013 13:37

I prefer Harry but it is SO popular these days.

CruCru · 22/06/2013 14:03

I like James. I think of Harry as more of a nickname.

Elquota · 22/06/2013 20:07

Another vote for James. It's used all the time as a middle name but you don't hear it so much as a first name. It's a good solid classic name.

Harry is OK but I'd only use it as a nickname for Henry or Harrison.

HMT13 · 23/06/2013 15:56

I vote James, it would be my choice if my DH didn't have it as his name already!!

fussychica · 23/06/2013 15:57

Both good but I'd go with James if it sits well with your surname.

squoosh · 23/06/2013 15:58

James, definitely.

I really dislike the name Harry and have NO idea why it is so popular.

Alisvolatpropiis · 23/06/2013 16:03

James.

I prefer Henry to Harry

KLou1105 · 26/06/2013 20:52

Definitely Harry this is mine and my DH top name but unfortunately already been used by a friend recently :-(

CPtart · 26/06/2013 20:58

James (my DS middle name).

NowPlayingZone · 26/06/2013 22:49

James.
It's just nicer.

DramaAlpaca · 26/06/2013 22:57

I adore James & I have one!

scarlettsmummy2 · 26/06/2013 23:02

James, less popular than Harry

themilkmonster · 26/06/2013 23:07

I like James more than Harry.

Also prefer Henry to Harry.

mrstowers · 27/06/2013 18:41

James is the new Harry!

StrawberryMojito · 27/06/2013 18:48

I love James and would have considered it for DS but we already have one in the family. Nothing wrong with Harry but James is much better.

Funnily enough those two names were our final 2. We went with James and I love it- it's such a strong name.
I didn't realise how high up it is on the popularity lists but I hear far more Harry's than James'.

amazingmumof6 · 27/06/2013 19:12

James

lollydollydrop · 28/06/2013 22:16
