Oh wise ones - after much disagreement we've whittled down our list of names to the following:

Arelie
Aurelie
Isobel/Isabel/Isabelle (even if we agree on the name we disagree on the spelling!)
Leonie (to rhyme with peony)

Middle name will be Catherine.

None of these are my top 3 (currently Alice, Chloe, Felicity) but I don't think he's going to be persuaded (and be fair he can't persuade me into his favourites either) so what do you think we should go for?

the first two are like orally. or o'really?
I like Isobel and Leonie. Prefer Leonie as it's more unusual.

MoonlightandRoses · 21/06/2013 23:54

I really like Leonie, but that's because I've known two lovely ones. Other than that, the others are fine, but wouldn't 'grab' me.

Would he/you consider maybe Oriana/Aurelia/Eos either?

Skygirls · 21/06/2013 23:56

Aurelie is very pretty but will probably be teased when older for sounding like orally, as poster above said.

Any of the spellings of Isabel are fine, and I think this goes better with Catherine....

Isabel Catherine....... Nice ring to it.

I like the name Leonie too.

We started with Aurelia but then veered towards Aurelie instead. I did originally dismiss it because it sounded too like orally - which is why Arelie is also on the list.

Aurelie

squoosh · 22/06/2013 00:17

I've only ever known Leonie to rhyme with pony.

DessieLou · 22/06/2013 01:02

I struggle to say Leonie to rhyme with peony. I know a lovely Leonie (as squoosh said, rhyming with pony). I'd go for that over the others. Bow about Ariella?

BlueStarsAtNight · 22/06/2013 01:08

I like Isobel best, followed by Leonie (with the stress on the 'o' to rhyme with pony). I don't like Aurelie and really don't like Arelie (I tbi k this looks totally made up and like you've just mis-spelt Aurelie).

Thanks - you've echoed some of my thoughts, especially round Aurelie/Arelie :-)
