Molly or Evie? Or something else...

I've loved both names for ever, but as I've just mentioned on another thread I'm just not sure if Evie is too common at mo. Ive been working my way through threads but haven't seem Molly come up at all I don't think! What do people think? Also like matilda(Tilly) and francesca. Hubbie likes Ellie but I'm not as keen. So difficult!

Where I live Evie is really common as is Ava. Molly is less common I think. They are both pretty girly names.

There are 3 Molly's and 2 Evie's in DDs reception class (30 children, probably half girls). They are both very popular names

Love Matilda, Francesca and Molly.

Not keen on Evie and don't like Ellie at all.

Good scattering of both here and loads of older Ellie's.

Megan would be my 'cutest" choice. Not that either Meg I know is cute, they are very special strong characters for very different reasons.

I prefer Molly, just because there are lots of Evie's near home at the mo.

There are 3 mollies and 2 Evie s in my sons dance class alone. Very very popular around here along with Isobel, Ava etc.

Both Mollie and Evie are popular names at the moment, Ellie & Tilly/Matilda are perhaps slightly on the wane - I know several young teen girls called Daisy/Molly/Ellie/Tilly.
Of your list, I'd say Francesca is a name I rarely hear used for little ones. I don't know any.

Out of 8 girls in DD's class 3 are Evie's and 2 of them have a sister called Molly

I feel that Evie/Ellie/Molly/Tilly/Poppy have become overused and are going to sound dated as they fall out of favour.

Francesca, on the other hand, is a lovely classic beautiful and not overused name!

Sorry, Dds have lots of friends called Evie, Ella and Tilly. Know at least 3 of each. Francesca is lovely and not as common.

I would go for Eve on the birth certificate with Evie as a nickname, but probably use both at home. I think Evie is quite cutesy which is fine unless your dd turns out to be a tomboy or not a very girly girl, in which case you could go with Eve, which I think is also better on a grown up than Evie.

But yes, I know lots of Evie, Molly, Tilly and also a Francesca. It wouldn't put me off though, common names are generally nice ones.

Francesca's lovely. Plus you've got Frankie as a shortening which still has the 'ie' ending you obviously like but isn't too cutesy.

Hehe, DD is Evie Molly Ella so I think that's all bases covered for popular...

And I don't know any others with any of those names, so depends where you are. Plus my Evie is a real tomboy and it suits her perfectly. Children become their names. Go with what you love. You will only regret it if you don't give the name you really want and then hear it shouted across the park. Popular names are popular for a reason. Only on MN does it seem that anyone cares.

I wouldn't worry about it too much if the name you choose is popular. If you like it, go for it. I like all the names you suggest btw. Dd has a really popular name (wasn't popular and then suddenly was hugely popular) but I absolutely love it and don't regret it for a minute.

Evie and Molly both very popular. I think Evie is ok and dislike Molly and Ellie. Matilda is ok, LOVE Francesca.
