If I like Anna...?

My baby girl is due any day now and we are still debating names. I think my favourite so far is Anna. DH thinks it's OK but maybe a bit dull. So if I like Anna does anyone have any similar suggestions. I already have two boys - Will and Toby and new baby's middle name is likely to be Jane. Thanks!

Anna is not dull! It is classic and gorgeous! Try and persuade him! If not, names that feel similar.

Charlotte
Alice
Emma
Clara
Laura

Thanks Tickled, I agree, and hope he can be persuaded! He's against Alice because of the 'who the F* is Alice' song. Hadn't considered Clara before, that's nice.

How about Annabel?

learnermummy · 18/06/2013 10:54

Thanks, I do like Annabel but worry about the 'baby Annabel' connection!

Anna is a lovely name ... In fact I loved it so much we called our DD it. Only she always gets called Annie, which I love too. I don't think it is dull at all but elegant and classic. It means favour or grace which is rather lovely.

LadyBigtoes · 18/06/2013 11:48

Oh I think first name and surname with the same initial is really cool!

learnermummy · 18/06/2013 12:01

I also love Annie Jayne but that has been vetoed I think for the musical connotations! Think will keep pushing for Anna Smile

Jennifer Jayne sounds good too :) then she can be Jenni if she is girly and JJ if she isn't .

gintastic · 18/06/2013 12:32

My baby girl is Anwen and we shorten it to Annie quite a lot - just a variation if you like Anna that is a bit more unusual.

Jaynebxl · 18/06/2013 12:32

Shame cos my DD loves the musical and when she was smaller actually thought it was about her (American orphan with curly ginger hair?!) so could be a plus point??!

soontobe I am Jennifer Jane and I was known as JJ!!! At the time I hated it but from my parents point of view I now realise it was quite cute

Artichook · 18/06/2013 13:40

Nina?

flopsy1974 · 18/06/2013 13:46

Anna is a beautiful timeless classic name. You can't really go wrong Smile

wigglesrock · 18/06/2013 13:56

I have an Anna Smile , she has 2 sisters both of whose names are on littlecherublegs list!

I also toyed with Nina and Juliet.

GingerCurry · 18/06/2013 16:46

Can't go wrong with Anna. Lovely name, classic and pretty.

And always at the beginning of the register- thats a bonus

MortifiedAdams · 18/06/2013 16:48

Girls I know called Anna have siblings Grace and Melanie.

I love the name Anna but our surname is Can...... so Anna Can.... sounds beyond daft. We went for Meg.
