What do you think? And can I have a Louis and a Ludo?

Love the name, very very unsure about whether you can have Louis and Ludo...

largeginandtonic · 18/06/2013 10:09

Brilliant name but not with Louis. No way.

ZolaBuddleia · 18/06/2013 15:11

Fab name, but agree, it's a bit matchy matchy with Louis.

Anjou · 18/06/2013 15:17

Totally awesome name! Love it but DH was having none of it for our DS's.

I know quite a few friends who have a name that has the same first letter as their sibling. I never found it at all remarkable until I started reading these boards. I still find it unremarkable, tbh. So it's the same letter, so what? It'd be different if it was Mark & Mike, James & Jane or Emma & Gemma. They'll not be referred to in the same sentence forever! Smile

Loo-ee or Loo-is?

With Loo-ee no way, mind you even with Loo-is I wouldn't.

It's not just the first initial but the same (Loo) sound in the first syllable that would make it a no for me, if it were just the first initial I would say, so what?

Arlo, Caspar, Rupert, Milo, Bruno????

valiumredhead · 18/06/2013 15:23

Lovely name but not with Louis.

squoosh · 18/06/2013 15:51

You definitely cannot have a Louis and a Ludo.

badtime · 18/06/2013 16:10

I know a Ludovic known as Ludi, so you could (despite your wishes - you can't control what names people actually use) end up with Louie and Ludi. That would be bad.

pygmy · 18/06/2013 17:23

Bummer. You're right.

Moonhare, I like all of those. Arlo is on the list but feel it's very current and is very popular here in SE London. Can't use Rupert as too similar to stepson's name. Milo my partner strongly dislikes and he's said no to Caspar and Bruno too.

I did think of Aldous 'Aldo' last night, but it's too pretentious. My list still stands at Hector, Magnus, Edgar and Otto. None of which I'm 100% about.

Not enjoying this naming thing at all :(

No and no.

I just think of Harry potter and it sounds like a trying to hard to be original name.

LondonBus · 18/06/2013 18:26

I love it!!!!

AnotherLovelyCupOfCoffee · 18/06/2013 23:17

Not with a Louis.

before I clicked I was going to suggest, if you aren't Russian, to put Louis Dominic or Louis Donald on the bc and use Ludo as a nn. Ludovic is a bit out of the blue if you're not Russian.

What about Victor instead of Hector?
Jago instead of Milo
I know it doesn't end in an 'o' but Arnaud would go well with Louis

dementedma · 18/06/2013 23:19

All a bit poncey
