Don´t know if DC3 is a boy or girl yet. 2 ds are called Louis & Oscar, so if its a girl, I want a strong, cool name.
Not keen at all on overly girly names Bella, Billy, Milly, Zilly, Bella, Mella, Molly, Lilly, Mia, Maya...you know what I mean! Beautiful for some, just not for me...
So far I like Mimi (family reasons), Clara (my husband is Spanish) and Indie.
Any other clever MN suggestions?

Naomi or Leonie are both stunning, very clever girls' names. Both could be shortened to the rater girly Mimi.

For Spanish names, I love Belen and Alba. And Montserrat, though that might be harder to get away with!

MustafaCake · 11/06/2013 20:24

Just thought of some more!

Isis (less girly than Iris IMHO)
Laurel (a nature name but not girly!)
Naomi
Elsa or Elise
Corine
Camille
Cassia (bit girly Cass as NN is lovely strong name)

williaminajetfighter · 11/06/2013 20:29

OP I have a Matilda that I call Tilda and love the name.

2nd choice and I think a great strong but not bonkers name is Medea. Knew a girl at school named that. From Greek mythology. Pronounced Me-day-ah

GoingToBedfordshire · 11/06/2013 20:33

A couple of posters have mentioned Juno - think it fits your criteria and goes well with your dss' names.

SageBush · 11/06/2013 20:37

Imogen, nn Mimi
Rowan
Tamsin
Alexandra
Eloise
Juno is a great suggestion

I like Iris too.

KickapooHigh · 11/06/2013 21:01

I know of a Haydn, that's definitely not girlie. She's a cute little thing.

Alisvolatpropiis · 11/06/2013 21:08

Boudicca?

morethanpotatoprints · 11/06/2013 21:45

Not sure if you like this but.... You don't get a much stronger girls name than Emiline and quite fitting as coming up to 100 year anniversary of suffragettes.

Iusedtowearmakeup · 11/06/2013 21:48

Shouldn't that be Emmeline?

elQuintoConyo · 11/06/2013 21:53

Ooh, my name keeps popping up, lovely!

I'm also in Spain. If DS had been a girl Maribel was top.of the list by FAAAAAAR! It's a combination of Maria and Isabel, we liked the femininity of it but didn't think it was too frilly - others may disagree you have my permission Mimi as nn would work, I suppose.

Carla
Veronica (maybe nicer with Spanish accent)
Maria del Mar - shortened to Mar
Maria del Luz - shortened to Malu
Alba

Belen makes me think 'bellend' (sorry!)
Montserrat a bit odd for the UK family?

Top of our 'wishlist' was Izaskun, it's Basque (as is DH) but it would cause no end of problems for my family!

Good luck!

EuphemiaLennox · 11/06/2013 22:01

Mimi is horribly twee and wet.

I know one Mimi and hate saying it, it sounds like a silly sound you'd make to mimic someone going on and on IYSWIM?

Strong names:

Miranda
Helena
Juliet
Victoria (but not Vicky so best avoided)
Camilla

Carmen is also strong and rather cool. Why don't you make your MIL and DH bhappy and get a cool name Into the bargain?? Win win all round and you get brownie points.

BeQuicksieorBeDead · 11/06/2013 22:04

I like strong girl names too....

Tanith (Cartegenian Moon goddess)
Rowan
Tora

BeQuicksieorBeDead · 11/06/2013 22:05

Although Tora might not sound as nice in Spanish as it does in Swedish!

lalalonglegs · 11/06/2013 22:06

Has anyone suggested Matilda yet?

IroningBoredDaily · 11/06/2013 22:07

I Love Naomi and Nina, Iona and Ines.
