Don´t know if DC3 is a boy or girl yet. 2 ds are called Louis & Oscar, so if its a girl, I want a strong, cool name.
Not keen at all on overly girly names Bella, Billy, Milly, Zilly, Bella, Mella, Molly, Lilly, Mia, Maya...you know what I mean! Beautiful for some, just not for me...
So far I like Mimi (family reasons), Clara (my husband is Spanish) and Indie.
Any other clever MN suggestions?

Yes, have always had my eye on Violet but I think dh might faint with horror! He would want to call a DD after his mother who is called Carmen - quite cool in UK, bit boringly common in Spain (where we live) Plus I don´t think I could bear to give MIL the satisfaction!

I like Mimi for (kind of sad) family reasons, so am not applying non-girlyness rule to that one.

I like Emmy too or Leonie??

I guess "coolness" for names is so subjective. I would never say Judith or Elizabeth were cool, but then again, there are names that are just too try-hard cool - I had a neighbour in London with a ds called Tiger-Max! urgh

Wondering if suggestions for Beryl and Cheryl are ironic?? That´s quite cool in itself... ha ha.

Mimi sounds like a poodle (I do like poodles though).

If you are in Spain, I love Rocio - the only one I knew was a 'cool' teenager (south). Josefina nn Fina is nice too.

"I know this family who called their daughter a really cool name..."

We had a few people say that to us with DD2 and I was quite chuffed! Her name is Darcy.

thecatfromjapan · 11/06/2013 17:28

notasaint and bluechampagne are my name-sisters! I came on to suggest something like Athena, or another goddess name.

Really like bluechampagne's list. I'll throw in Isis, just because it's not been done yet.

My sister is Ruth and I think it's a fab name. Not overly popular either I've only met 1 other!

When she was little she was Ruthie which made it a bit
