Too cutesy?

It will always be associated with being attacked flocks of birds in my mind - sorry!

My grandparents had a dog called Tippi.

So that's the association for me.

I immediately thought Tommee too!

I really like Tempi though. I used to have a babysitter Tempi. I think it was short for Temperence.

Is it meant to be short for something? Sounds too much like tipsy for my liking. I think the pregnancy hormones are getting to you. When I was pg I wanted Elphaba, purely so I could use the nn Elfie.

Only as a cute nn when they're little. Awful for a teen/adult. It made me think Tommee... too. Can't even think of anything it would be short for!

Tippi Hedron was Natalie I think.

Is it even a name? Can you imagine a 40year old being called tippi .... It may tippi them over the edge!

It is a bit too cutesy, yes. You could probably get away with it if you are achingly posh and all your friends' children will be called things like Tigga and Bunty and Binkums, but otherwise it's really too much.

Reminds me of tippi degre, the girl who grew up in Africa with wildlife as friends.

Maybe get away with Tabitha as name and get to tippi aka - tabbi- tippi ??

Middle name is going to be unusual (family name) so can't give a 'sensible' middle name to fall back on.

It is lovely, The Birds is one of my favourite films. It does sound like a nickname but I wouldn't be able to place from what (didn't know T Hedren was Natalie till pp mentioned - she certainly hasn't outgrown her nn though).

Mind you Marnie is a nickname too but people (Lily Allen) use it as a name in its own right.

Other association would be those tents (tipi).
