Elliott is my favourite and Id use it if DH didnt hate it. I like Samuel but would have 'just' Sam. Same with Benjamin - we have Ben on our boys list (but not Benjamin).

I dont have any opinion on Adam either way. I really dislike James but have no idea why. I really really dislike it.

OVerall I think its a great list, mainly as I like standard non-wacky names Grin

AllegraLilac · 30/05/2013 20:14

Adam is my fave, feels most underused at the minute.

LOVE James, so classy, but always feels like a middle name.

Like Elliot, because I like cross-gender nicknames. Ellie/Elle on a boy may be a problem for you.

The others I have no opinion on, but all names are fine, inoffensive and sensible choices.

strawberryswing · 30/05/2013 20:14

Love Adam, Benjamin and James. Would probably go with Adam though as I think its slightly less used. My daughter would have been an Adam if she was a boy.

Leeds2 · 30/05/2013 20:14

I would have Samuel (Sam), then James. Then Ben.

I wouldn't personally consider Adam or Elliott, but that's just me!

MisselthwaiteManor · 30/05/2013 20:28

I really like James, it would be on my shortlist too but there's already a James in the family

CPtart · 30/05/2013 20:35

I have an Adam James. Benjamin (Ben) was also on our short list for DS 2 so maybe a bit biased.
Also like Luke, Zachary, Edward, William, Evan.
Really dislike Elliot.

usualsuspect · 30/05/2013 20:36

Elliot

JojoMags · 30/05/2013 21:25

Samuel would win by a mile for me. Don't like Elliot.

Floralnomad · 30/05/2013 21:26

James ,don't like any of the others .

vitaminC · 30/05/2013 21:31

My DD2 would have been Elliott, had she been a boy, but that was 10 years ago and it's become much more popular since then, so I'm not sure about it now Confused

Samuel and Benjamin are lovely. Adam is not bad, but I don't like it quite as much as the others. James is pretty boring, IMO, compared with the others.

I actually know twins called Sam and Ben Smile and I'd probably pick one of those two if I had to choose.

windywoo26 · 30/05/2013 22:06

I have a Samuel (Sam) James and Benjamin (Ben) was second on our shortlist. Afraid I am not keen on Elliott, I always have to say it in my head like E.T. Adam is a nice name too, not in love with if but is a good one.

jellybeans · 30/05/2013 22:07

Samuel

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 30/05/2013 22:10

Adam, then James.

exoticfruits · 30/05/2013 22:12

I like them all except Elliot.

DonkeysDontRideBicycles · 30/05/2013 22:24
  1. Adam
  2. Samuel

How about
Adam Elliott
Samuel James

katefirsttimer · 30/05/2013 22:28

Adam wouldnt be shortened like the others.
If you cold handle Samuel being a Sam, or James being a Jim / Jimmy / Jamie then I guess my point wouldn't be a given.

Try each one for e day and see what roles of your tongue easiest.
Good luck xxx

Bowlersarm · 30/05/2013 22:31

Not keen on Elliott.

Other than that they're all great. Just consider whether you would like the shortened versions if they were to become known by that version of the name.

LilyLilyLilyOiOiOi · 30/05/2013 23:12

Elliott is amazing, but I've got a gorgeous one so I'm biased!

OrangeFireandGoldashes · 31/05/2013 02:40

They are all great names; James would just shade it for me, then Benjamin, Elliott, Samuel, Adam in that order.

HorryIsUpduffed · 31/05/2013 07:53

I have used two of them Grin

I like Elliott least. The variability of "one L or two?" and "one T or two?" would drive me batty.

gillywillywoo · 31/05/2013 07:59

Like them all .....but I know a few new born Samuels so would say NOT Samuel for that reason.
