Found an article on America's top names which showed counting spellings changed the order of the top baby names, for example: Isabella at #3 is #2 including other spellings and #20 Zoe is now #7 and #67 Madeleine is #13, biggest in the boys include Aiden at #1 to #10 and Jackson to #20

Here is 2010 Britain's, WDYT?

V interesting. Link doesn't work for me though so I can't see the list!

I'm surprised my name's not in the top 500 - I didn't think it was that uncommon... Just isn't in fashion for today's parents I guess.

I hate creative spellings.

strawberryswing · 31/05/2013 19:12

Some of them spellings just make me Shock. And a poor 95 children were given my name on 2010, didn't realise it was in the top 500!

strawberryswing · 31/05/2013 19:13

95 poor children even.

Kc? Tiia? Cortney? I think a little bit of my soul just died.

spiderlight · 31/05/2013 20:02

Chole? Ysobel?! Domonic??!! And surely there aren't really eight little Roarys out there having the Roary the Racing Car theme sung at them fifty times a day?

We have a Kc at our school. Kc-Mai, to be precise. Capitalised like that.

Gosh, there are children called Hunni. And Hunnie. Goodness.

badtime · 01/06/2013 18:02

spiderlight, Ysobel isn't that strange. I think it is a Spanish version of Isobel.

I read through the list and find the methodology a bit strange. It seems to be quite subjective which names they put together e.g. they put Zara, Zaara, Zarah, Zarrah, Zhara and Xara together (no.78), but they were separate from Zahra, Zahraa and Zahrah (no. 145). And surely 'Zhara' should be pronounced, um, 'Zhara'?

Also, it seems that some of the names under 'Mia' (no.15) might actually belong with Maya (no.34).

I don't know how they decided what went where.

Jesus. 8 kids called Roary. Are they all racing cars?
