It's not a name I thought DH would like so almost didn't even suggest it to him (he vetoed Robin and Lawrence for being too "feminine!" Tsk!)

But he actually likes it and so do I!

My brother's name. He's lovely (although in his late teens, so doesn't talk much!) and the name is lovely. I didn't actually like it when he was born (I was 15 at the time) but it has really grown on me and I can't imagine him being called anything else!

I automatically think of a girl but that's probably because I know 2 female Francis's.

Jazz - do the females spell it Francis?

I though Francis was the male version spelling and Frances was the female version?

I want to check I've got that right!

I really like it! I think "Pope Chic" is going to be an emerging trend, along with Saintly names like Josephine, Agatha and Agnes, Anne, Joan, Mary.

I like it - but I am quite impressed by the current pope compared to the last one and I know that's influenced my answer. Are you ok with that association for your LO's name?

I'm not that keen, but that might be because I'm not catholic, and it very much a name of that denomination.

And it is likely there will be a lot of baby Francis in honour of the Pope.

And another famous one is Francis Rossi, and Status Quo are indded touring this summer.
