I really love Morgana Elizabeth, DH is not convinced (because of Merlin)

Opinions?

Sorry, it does sound like a witches name

BoyMeetsWorld · 28/05/2013 21:39

I used to love this name...but when I tried saying it / calling it etc I decided it just sounds overly fussy & comic strip

barnet · 28/05/2013 21:40

Morgan is good though, for either sex

IWantToBeADragon · 28/05/2013 21:43

I really don't like Morgan as a "birth certificate" type name :( seems more nn'ish to me and i find it sounds quite masculine in comparison to Morgana, shame i really love it, but back to the drawing board lol

Funny, I don't notice it with Morgan but with Morgana I see 'organ' very clearly in the middle!

What about Morwenna?

nightingalefloor · 29/05/2013 01:17

I don't like it, but then I don't like Morgan either, knew an EVIL one as a child. Plus I don't think people will be able to get around the Merlin thing. Sorry.

RiaOverTheRainbow · 29/05/2013 02:39

I love Morgana.

I know a Morgane (French) - sounds more feminine than Morgan.

eastendfareast · 29/05/2013 02:48

What about Mawgan? That's to Celtic spelling and pronounced the same

AllegraLilac · 29/05/2013 10:38

Morgan is great, the extra a is too flowery imo.

StellaNova · 29/05/2013 11:18

For me the "mor" bit is a bit doom laden - Mordor, mourning, mortuary etc - but that is probably too much Lord of the Rings. And I quite like Morten anyway so clearly I am in no position to judge.

StrawColoured · 29/05/2013 11:20

No - Reminds me of Morgana Rothschild from Brave New World.

BuntyPenfold · 29/05/2013 11:21

We did have a little girl named Morgan at nursery, who to tell the truth was pitied by the staff for her ugly name.
Her mother said she wanted potential employers to expect a man for interview and be pleasantly surprised to find a female.

EuroShaggleton · 29/05/2013 11:21

Witchy.

TerrysNo2 · 29/05/2013 11:28

I do not like it. Sorry!

wigglesrock · 29/05/2013 14:46

Merlin, and I didn't even watch it.

JojoMags · 29/05/2013 15:39

No, you can't be serious!

IWantToBeADragon · 29/05/2013 15:45

Ok ok, im blaming baby brain! Grin I still like it though!!!

I like it. I don't watch Merlin, but I would consider it a variant of the name of Morgan Le Fay anyway. However, I don't think that's a bad thing.
