i love the name eva

bluecarrot · 24/05/2013 10:36

I love it. ( and have one!)

bigbluebump · 24/05/2013 11:38

Eva is a nice name but feels quite 'trendy' along with Evie, Ellie, Ava etc. If you're not bothered by that popularity, the it might work for you!

pygmy · 24/05/2013 11:48

I like it!

coco4242 · 24/05/2013 11:49

I have an Eva. Love it.

Linguaphile · 24/05/2013 12:01

Love the name, but as posters may say later on in the thread, Evie is like the Jessica of our decade--very, very popular. If you're not too worried about her sharing the name with lots of other girls her age, I'd say to go for it.

Locketjuice · 24/05/2013 14:18

Love it but too popular for me to actually use Sad

poppydaisy · 24/05/2013 15:04

Agree with others that Eva has become quite 'fashionable' and may start to feel dated as it falls out of favour again.

Layla is beautiful and feels more 'timeless' imo.

Pobblewhohasnotoes · 24/05/2013 18:37

It's lovely but so so popular. She may be the 7th Eva in her class.

AThingInYourLife · 24/05/2013 18:41

It's popular because it's a great name - simple, short, easy to spell, easy to say.

I really love it.

There are no Evas in DD1's class (R) and I only know one child of that name (4).

HollyGoHeavily · 24/05/2013 18:51

Its lovely but very popular (if that bothers you) - 50% of my daughters nursery class are called this...

There's only 6 in the class - but it's still 50% :)

coco4242 · 24/05/2013 19:04

My Eva was in the only one in her nursery and is now the only one I know of in her primary.

She goes to Rainbows, swimming and dance and has never met another.

beckslovestimmy · 24/05/2013 19:50

Love it, I've got a beautiful 4.5 month old Eva, don't know any others and we go to lots of groups. Nearest name is Evelyn, coincidently they were born on the same day in the same hospital! Grin

MyThumbsHaveGoneWeird · 25/05/2013 12:18

Every girl at toddler group is called a similar name these days (Ava, Eva, Eve, Evie, Elsie, Elise) and I get them all mixed up. I don't think there is anything wrong with popular (Oliva, Amelia, Sophia, Isabella all beautiful) but all those popular same but different names make my head hurt.
