I've always lived this for a girl. Like Cyd Charisse. Do you think I could get away with it even though we are not welsh?

Nah.

Prefer her real name, Tula.

I dislike the spelling.

TheChaoGoesMu · 25/05/2013 02:06

I don't like the spelling.

mathanxiety · 25/05/2013 05:56

Love it and love the spelling.

JazzAnnNonMouse · 25/05/2013 06:01

Do you pronounce it 'Sid'?

mootime · 27/05/2013 06:48

Yes. Pronounced Sid. Somehow the spelling seems more appropriate for a girl.
OH is trying to veto!

Cydny for a girl is lovely.... I'm not sure about cyd though. I don't know why!

Wossname · 27/05/2013 06:51

Like it because of Cyd Charrise, is it short for something?

Love Tula too actually!

Tortoiseonthehalfshell · 27/05/2013 06:52

She'll have a lifetime of "Sid? Isn't that a boy's name?" "Not Sid. Cyd. C-Y-D". "Oh, but pronounced Sid? Like the boy's name?". Same reason I sadly scratched Huw off my list; if it's not a known spelling in wherever she's likely to grow up, it's making life too difficult.

SneezySnatcher · 28/05/2013 19:55

I know an eleven-year-old Cyd and she's lovely.

Cool name!
