I've just discovered the name Wilbert and I think I love it. What do you think?

Isn't it slang for being a bit stupid?

Onesleeptillwembley · 21/05/2013 14:36

I don't have words strong enough for how bad it is. It even makes Klay look er well not good exactly, but less bad.

GoodbyePorkPie · 21/05/2013 14:38

pygmy, no! I already told you on your other thread to go with Cosmo!

poppydaisy · 21/05/2013 14:59

Both parts of the name aren't great - Wil/Willy or Bert!

Cosmo is SO much nicer and cooler!

MadBusLady · 21/05/2013 15:12

No. Sounds like a goldfish. I think Albert is lovely though so maybe I am not very consistent on this.

MadBusLady · 21/05/2013 15:15

Also makes me think of Dilbert, but that probably won't be a thing for the generation born now. Although Dilbert is kind of timeless so you can't rely on that...

SilverOldie · 21/05/2013 15:32

Wilbert is a silly name - go with Cosmo, it's fab.

pygmy · 21/05/2013 15:44

Ok, point taken! Smile

It sounds very wet.

kelda · 21/05/2013 15:46

Wilbur is better.

SleepyCatOnTheMat · 21/05/2013 18:17

I second Wilbur - love that name. Arthur has made a comeback so why not Wilbur?

JojoMags · 21/05/2013 19:39

Haha. I have a Wilfrid and a Robert, but even to someone with form like mine Wilbert is dreadful!

Oriunda · 21/05/2013 19:58

Still think Cosmo better (well I would, wouldn't I, having one myself!) but I do like Wilbur (NOT Wilbert which I have never heard of). There is one in my son's nursery and he is gorgeous.

usualsuspect · 21/05/2013 20:41

Its horrible.

olivertheoctopus · 21/05/2013 20:55

Nope. Wilbur is very very very cool (on list but DH is having none of it plus BIL is Will). Wilfred also equally as cool.

kelda · 22/05/2013 10:34

Yes Wilbur and Wilfred are both great, but Wilbert just doesn't work so well.

OrlaKiely · 22/05/2013 10:36

I have got a wilberforce and I call him this.

poppydaisy · 22/05/2013 10:47

I don't like Wilbur, Wilfred, William or Wilbert - it's the Wil part that is too close to Willy Blush.
