Alissia-Rose ...

Trying to.come up with.girls names and this is probablly my definite option....

Story behind it.. DH likes 'Alice' i.said no as it just makes me think of the very rude song (who the f**k is alice) ... And he likes Rose.. I like rose but not.for a first names.

So ive lengthened alice to alissia and used rose as second name..
Rose would be a middle name if it was upto me but we're unsure whether to hyphenate it yet... What do you all think?

My first choice was Olivia but DH.doesnt like :(!

Something-Rose seems very popular at the moment, I know four in the last year (Amber-Rose, Imogen-Rose, Alicia-Rose and a Lily-Rose). How would you feel if there were several other girls in your DD's class with the same sort of name?

It wouldn't bother me incidentally, and Alissia-Rose is a perfectly pretty name. Use it if you both like it.

Im.thinking Rose.as just a middle name and letting her decide what to do with it when she grows up!.. Hmmmm..... Only trying to keep DH happy as he didnt have a say in.anything with.his first daughter (different mum).. Thankyou :)

I like the name Alissia, and LOVE the name Rose. But I wouldn't put them together as a first name (as in I wouldn't hyphenate).

Def no hyphen.

prefer Alyssa to Alissia though, as it is normally spelt Alicia isn't it?

The spelling of Alissia seems a bit strange to me? Is that the proper spelling?

No to the hyphen it dumbs down the name IMO

Its normally spelt Alyssia but can be spelt Alissia... www.babynames.co.uk/meaning_origin_name_Alissia.htm .. Would be Alissia Rose Ashworth.. I think it rolls off tongue nicely :). I agree about not hyphenating, too

Don't like the spelling at all... Seems made up even if its not... Def sense of trying to hard I think. The name itself is nice though :)

Agree try find something other than Rose, its what everyone gets, similar to ann when I was younger!

I would spell it Alicia, more like Alice and the traditional spelling I think, also very pretty! I don't mind it hyphenated but maybe with Rose just as a middle name would leave the focus on Alicia which is lovely

I prefer Alicia but thats DHs daughters middle name so cant have :( and is pronounced al-ee-sha.. I just i dont mind Alyssa but i prefer it with an 'i' ... I dont like the letter Y i think it looks a lil masculine.. Hmmm... Confused now :p

Problem with using the spelling Alicia is some, me included, would make my first assumption at it being pronounced aleesha.

Really dislike Alissia, sounds made-up to me. If you don't like Alice, then go for something else. Rose is nice, but PLEASE don't hyphenate.

Don't like Alissia, as others have said sounds made up, and not keen on the hyphen either. I like Alicia Rose (but potential to be pronounced as Aleesha). What about Alessia Rose? (Alessia is Italian version of Alexandra).

I don't like the spelling and think hyphenating is naff. I know someone with a lisp who called his daughter Alicia. Never understood that..

I don't understand the idea of Alicia being pronounced aleesha? It reads al..iss..ia? There is no ee sound? Am I issuing something as I know. Few Alicia and they are never said as aleesha?

To me it should be spelt Alicia, it's not pronounced Al-eesha. Or spell it Alysia. Or how about Elysia?

Hyphenated names are awful, and alissia looks made up. Rose is also extremely popular as a middle name.

You know what OP? I know you came on here asking for opinions, but there are always going to be people who don't like your choices in life for one reason or another and are blunt about saying so! You don't have to cave in to their random 'rules'. There is nothing wrong with choosing a name you and your partner love. Really.
