Hi

We're down to two names:

Harry
Max

Love Harry but worried its too popular?!!

His middle name will be Joseph and surname is Fletcher.

Not everything that is popular is good. See the daily mail and tesco for details Wink

Madamecastafiore · 19/05/2013 20:03

Harry. Max sounds threateningly tory/capitalist.

Startail · 19/05/2013 20:13

Harry
Morgan, Monty

Max feels incomplete and Maxamilion is just daft.

FetaCheeny · 19/05/2013 20:21

Max

YouMaySayImADreamer · 19/05/2013 23:58

Just called my little boy Max and officially it is Maximilian! We wanted a full version of the name and i admit i thought Maximilian was daft at first but i love it now and so does everyone we tell! It also means "the greatest"!!

OutragedFromLeeds · 20/05/2013 01:23

Maximilian always makes me think of cartoon villain.

I'm not sure about the popularity of a name being directly linked to how 'good' it is, otherwise the same names would always be in the top 100. There is clearly a name 'fashion'. At the moment Harry is in, but will inevitably go out and become dated. Just like leggins.

Love Harry, but would go for Harrison as a full name.

Harry

Twinklestarstwinklestars · 20/05/2013 02:07

We're having dc3 in July and if a he will be Max (but probably Maxwell officially) as I think it's easier to put with a middle name as Maxwell.

Amy106 · 20/05/2013 02:08

They are both great, but I like Max the best.

Madamecastafiore · 20/05/2013 02:44

Youmaysay we have a Maximilian and everyone thinks it very cool. It suits him too, he is only called it when naughty but is happy for everyone to know his name and thinks it better than all the jack William Harry etc who every second boy in his class is.

OneFingerSjupesUpTheYoni · 20/05/2013 02:49

Oooh max definitely.

bananaramma · 20/05/2013 07:06

Both names are very trendy and widely used already. The fact that many of us follow the same fashion does not make it 'good'. It just makes it popular and vulnerable to falling out of fashion again.
I'd probably choose max if I had to.

GwendolineMaryLacey · 20/05/2013 07:14

Max

eatyourveg · 20/05/2013 07:32

Best option imo is Joseph (Joe) Maxwell Fletcher - Joe Fletcher sounds like the cool dude in school who has all the girls swooning

bootsycollins · 20/05/2013 07:34

Maxwell

MyNameIsSuz · 20/05/2013 11:08

If you're worried about popularity i don't think you can go on national league tables alone. Max is incredibly popular here - i have an 8 month old and among all the babies at the various groups we go to there are lots of maxes, while i think i am yet to meet a single baby harry. Just pick whichever one you like best.

Pobblewhohasnotoes · 20/05/2013 11:12

Max.
