Bea or Juno??

Not pregnant yet....but hopefully soon! Which would you prefer. Obviously for Bea/Bee I would use Beatrice/Beatrix on the BC! The fact that Beatrice is very popular at the moment annoys me though love the nn Bea. Juno is a long time love and is extremely unusual....only 30 or so babies given the name last year, which is a positive!

Beatrice / Bea is a gorgeous name. It can't be that popular as it's still outside the top 100. Juno sounds made up to me.

jamtoast12 · 12/05/2013 17:01

Juno is way too obviously from the film for me. Beas nice!

thezebrawearspurple · 12/05/2013 17:14

I don't like Beatrice/Beatrix/Bea at all tbh, think Juno is beautiful and unusual, would have called dd that only the movie kind of ruined it a bit for me. Most people will have forgotten the movie by now though and nobody will remember it in a few years. Juno will always be a beautiful nameSmile

Oh either! I love Beatrix a little more than Juno I think, and there are a few more options for her to abbreviate in alter life, I would use Trix as a nn personally.

NorthernLurker · 12/05/2013 18:26

I have a Beatrice. It's a fab name and although it's popular on mumsnet, in the world at large I doubt it'll match Emily, Sophie etc. Juno is nice too.

I also like Viola.

Decoy · 12/05/2013 18:30

Beatrice, nickname Bea. It's a classic, even if it's popular.

Beatrix seems harsher and I'm not keen on Juno (sounds like a nickname for June, even though I know it isn't)

Exhaustipated · 12/05/2013 18:45

Prefer Beatrice/Bea.

Juno is nice but faddy and will date IMO.

Still18atheart · 12/05/2013 18:50

I really like both, but I prefer Juno.

excited99 · 12/05/2013 18:52

I have a Beatrice, I love it.

sleepingbeautiful · 12/05/2013 18:54

Beatrice.

Beatrix is hard. It makes me think dominatrix lol. Juno, I agree, will date.

BeaWheesht · 12/05/2013 18:57

Bea obviously.

I always thought Juno would date, but I recently met a lovely Juno, and the name suits her so much that it doesn't seem like it would matter if it dates.

Lots of names date. Sarah, for example, which was very common when I was growing up, virtually never used now, but it sounds beautiful to me.

WickerKnickers · 12/05/2013 19:13

I have a brilliant friend called Beatrice (Bea for short). It's lovely. Another friend's daughter has the middle name Juno. I'm not as keen, though it has great meaning in the classics (and it's a great film!).

NotjustaMummy · 12/05/2013 19:21

I had a Beatrix 9 days ago. It's a lovely name!

Leeds2 · 12/05/2013 21:43

Beatrice, nn Bea.

FingersCrossedLegsNot · 12/05/2013 23:43

Thanks for the input so far! It's fun to think about baby names as it takes my mind off of this ttc heartache (2+yrs)

Juno will be on the rise though, when all those teens who loved the movie get a bit older and have a baby. Bea is a nice name too, but hello - royalty - !

xigris · 13/05/2013 06:03

Love Juno! Would have definitely been a contender for me except for the fact I have all boys...... I don't think a film should put you off

Britchic · 13/05/2013 06:55

Hmmm.... both gorgeous! I think I'd tend towards Bea, just because it's even more gorgeous!

Good luck with ttc x
