Just got new wallpaper that's the penguin classics books. Looking at Aldous Huxley multiple times a day (30 weeks pg!).

Is Huxley cool or am I losing it. Already got a DS called Wilf(red). I like slightly more left field names - Blaise, Rafferty and Heath all in the mix too.

miffybun73 · 11/05/2013 21:26

To be honest my first response was "Huxley?! What kind of name is that?!" ...sorry... Aldous sounds much more "normal" though!

CecyHall · 11/05/2013 21:35

Sorry, another Huxley Pig association here.

Beamur · 11/05/2013 21:38

It's an interesting one - but my first thought was Huxley Pig! But these associations don't always last that long.

PartyFops · 11/05/2013 21:38

I know a huxley and he is super cute.

Decoy · 12/05/2013 16:39

I thought "Aldous Huxley".

Nothing wrong with Huxley as a name, it's no different from any other surnamey names such as Harley, Harvey etc.

ItsallisnowaFeegle · 12/05/2013 16:53

Yep, another one who thought Huxley Pig...has the tune in my head now. Who you gonna be today Huxley Pig oink oink

I think it's a cool name though and only those of us of a certain age would be likely to make the connection.

massagegirl · 12/05/2013 17:11

I know a gorgeous Huxley!

gillywillywoo · 12/05/2013 17:18

Not a fan. Love Heath though x

Leeds2 · 12/05/2013 17:26

It sounds a bit like a dog's name to me.

Mellymog · 12/05/2013 18:29

i immediately thought 'pig', sorry.

sleepingbeautiful · 12/05/2013 18:45

Yup, another pig thought. Plus I think it feels clumsy on the tongue.
Love Heath though. That was on our back-up list in case DS didn't seem like our #1 pick.

barnet · 12/05/2013 18:55

Huxley is great. I love names with 'x's. Rafferty and Heath are also good, and all good with Wilf.

barnet · 12/05/2013 18:56

Ive not heard of the Huxley pig!

olivertheoctopus · 12/05/2013 22:02

I love Wilf! Huxley works quite well with Wilf but is a bit more 'out there' IMO.

Huxley Pig

mymatemax · 12/05/2013 22:08

i know a Huxley, he is a gorgeous little boy. Some of his friends call him Hux, none of them have a clue who Huxley pig was, so unless they bring back Pipkin (was it?) then I think the pig reference is safe.
Go for it!

bohoec · 12/05/2013 22:10

This was our choice if we'd had a boy! (After the author, not the pig!). I think it's great Smile
